Femke Bol sets new European record in the 400 meters hurdles of 50.95 seconds in La Chaux-de-Fonds. She is only the second athlete to go under 51 seconds in the event

Bol hasn’t beaten McLaughlin in their many many head to head meetings, although I think both will go sub 51, I think there’ll be a clear gold medal winner (McLaughlin) :d

Sure, McLaughlin is definitely the favourite, but Bol has certainly increased her chances somewhat today. If she's able to go sub-51, McLaughlin can't have a mediocre day or something, she does need to be on top of her game.

Oh for sure. 
 

But unless she gets injured/ill before or during the Olympics, I don’t see that happening. She’s what you would call “the perfect example of consistency” in the sport of athletics.
