Yes, I agree. Let's keep Olympics to european nations, USA and (maybe) Australia, clearly the only civilized countries in the world.

But...what about Canada

We're G7, you know.  Because we have friends in high places (USA).  :d

Actually, since it all depends on placings within your heat, changing conditions don't really matter.  If it's choppy, it's choppy for everyone in your heat.

It shouldn't be conditions based though. You shouldn't have boats being smashed, falling over, etc. It isn't fair on the athletes. The first day was an absolute disgrace.

I agree that holding the Olympics in Brazil was a bad idea.

QF 1 of the Rowing is :UZB:INA:NOR:CUB:AUS:KOR

Those big rowing nations

As now we come across the world
To share these Games of old
Let all the flags of every land
In brotherhood unfold

So because of this rowing QF match-up holding the games in Brazil was a bad idea? I agree on the venue but certainly not on Brazil.

Also, other nations catch up, in rowing too, wouldn't you say?

The lead up showed why it was a bad idea, the rowing venue as well. However these games have seen passionate fans, amazing results etc. Brazil has shown it can host. I do think FISA and the ICF should have been adamant on a different venue.
