By the way, so far commentary has been fine, but then I was watching this morning's dragon boat racing and the well-known curse of the generic English commentator surfaced :d

In the 10-seater 200m final she was going on about how it was a supertight race, followed at the finish by an exclamation of Chinese Taipei's victory. Too bad there's no finish photo, but in fact Thailand won, Chinese Taipei wasn't even in the medals and....it wasn't close, Thailand literally won by nearly a full boat length :d

The next race was a 500 meter, where the commentator taught us a valuable piece of information specific for dragon boat racing, I suppose: first singling out a specific boat (forgot which one) and saying "they trained so hard for this event" (thanks, I assume the rest didn't?), and then telling us "the 500 meter race is considered a longer event than the 200 meter race". Ah, I was wondering which of the two was the longest.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Did the wakeboard cable finals end up being shown? The schedule's first stream starts with the skim finals, it seems, but cable is what I want to see :p

Also: I assume the 'cancelled' softball medal matches will be rescheduled..

Watch out that the cable finals were not broadcast tonight. This is also because they are at a different venue.

Catching up on some muay thai from yesterday, the knee right in the rib cage that finished this fight immediately was a beauty :d

Best shot of the day it seems, all the other semis were just based on points in the end, nothing too special.

Thanks, I'll have a look there! Sorry for asking, but I don't really read anything here until I've seen what I want to see, since unfortunately we don't have separate threads for all the sports so results of everything are mixed in together :p

Ugh, all the ne-waza jiu-jitsu semis are being done on tatami 2, the one being shown, meaning that every single one of the fighting semis - which are on tatami 1 - is being ignored on the stream :(

Saves some time, I suppose.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
