None of the Asian Games squad are there. But wouldn't it be weird if they send a weaker team in a home event?

A news article in ICF shows that they only target 2 gold medals, which doesn't seem to be very ambitious

The ICF had to cancel the last World Championships in Italy due to a lack of participants. Perhaps they need to show more diversity?

25 low opening split for :GER Holt!

Edit: Just realized she was at the Paris 2024 Olympics in swimming, I feel like swimming would translate well to life saving but you don’t see that crossover often :yikes:

actually, she was in Singapore last week, when she was 14th in the individual 100m freestyle and she did even win the bronze medal in the women's 4*100m medley relay (she swam the last leg, of course)

in terms of pure swimming, she's a class apart in this discipline

I watched all the finals sessions in Singapore, I can’t believe I forgot about that what an idiot I am :bones:

Although, even if I had remembered her name from Worlds, I would probably still think this one was a different one or an impostor :p

Thanks for reminding me

UPSET ALERT!! :POR defeat defending champions :CRO 2-0 in the men’s beach handball group stage! :yikes:

24-22, 25-20 set scores.

Well :CRO look completely out of form, so not too much of an upset but really surprising that they finish the group stage 0-3! :yikes:

    • Ah, as if that weren’t enough, Fratelli d’Italia (the largest party in parliament, the same one PM Giorgia Meloni belongs to) is demanding that the federation’s leadership come to parliament to explain the reasons for the failure. One of the rare times the government and opposition are united
    • Obviously, like every four years, the usual media circus has kicked off, with Italian politics and the government demanding the FIGC president’s head on a spike. Meanwhile, since the president is also an idiot, he doubled down, saying that football players are the only professionals and that other sports survive on government money. And so, the little theater begins, with the big stars of other sports launching a media storm (rightly so) to insult overpaid football players who can’t even achieve the minimum results.
