:ITA Gregorio Paltrinieri will not take part in the men's 10km race :yikes::cry:

he will be replaced by Dario Verani, world silver medallist and European champion over 25km (but a good specialist also in the 10km)

Paltrinieri will swim only the mixed relay in OWS (and the 1500m in the pool)

With the olympic standar in 1500 he can swim the 10km race in the Olympics too

:ESP Carlos Garach doesnt compete either, since he already has the 1500 standar and can double in Paris. This gives the second in line spaniard the chance to qualify to the games too.

the French federation of swimming  announced that France could qualify 2 men and 2 women for these world championships, is this true? THANKS

Yes, maximum 2 athlethes per gender. the host place will go to the next country at WC. As  Jur said before also athletes with minimum in 800 at 1500m could start (additional places).

Looking at the entry lists, I see that Australia is the only nation from Oceania entered in the men's 10km event so I believe they've already earned a quota.

Same thing is true in the women's event but Australia already qualified through the 2023 edition so that quota will get reallocated.

I haven't paid close attention to open water swimming in regards to the Olympics, but can more than 22 swimmers start in Paris? (ie. can pool swimmers "double up" without occupying one of the 22 quotas?)

Yes, it's possible. Anyone with an Olympic qualifying time in the 800m or 1500m pool events can also enter as long as they don't exceed the maximum of two athletes per NOC.

Finally, a good quota policy in aquatics :yes
