First athlete from Mauritius if I'm not mistaken

most likely, but not exactly new to the Games...this is his 3rd appearance after 2008 and 2012 (and in both cases he did even reach the 2nd round of the actual Olympic tournament)...

I'm afraid DR Congo will not qualify anyone out of the 4 they have in semis. :(

if they don't give Tshama the win right now, they're worse than AIBA...

:MOZ and :BOT  return to Olympic boxing after missing Rio. Both had one fighter each in London 2012

The other countries, and in some cases fighters, were involved in Rio

Kind of weird how Cameroon still has nobody qualified.

Anyone who is anyone in Africa is pretty much in at this point.

Yeah now that Mauritius qualified they are now among the final three non-tripartite African nations without a quota (along with :CGO and :SEN )

Interestingly enough all three have a chance at qualifying in table tennis later this week (should Cameroon not qualify here)

Senegal should also get a fencing quota I’d imagine. Congo isn’t a strong as they were post-African Games four years ago. Cameroon has managed to miss multiple opportunities, so can’t really feel all that bad for them.
