Which Sports Events are you Currently Watching?

OK, but can someone explain to me, why in combat sports there are two bronze medals given away? I know it comes from boxing, where as it was said earlier, losers are too injured (although I don't think that's the point anymore - I think there is very few knockouts now and the qualification system was created so that there would be box-off for the fifth/sixth place so...). But judo, wrestling, taekwondo... they're not that brutal so that they cannot fight anymore, so why not to do the classic 3rd place bout between semifinal losers?

Repechage for all combat sport should be:

LQF1 v. LQF4

LQF2 v. LQF3

WR1 v. LSF2 - winner is Bronze Medalist

WR2 v. LSF1 - winner is Bronze Medalist

For those with a decent seeding system, yes. In so far two bronze medals are even necessary at all.

Really all combat sports, minus Boxing, should have tournaments like this: Pool Round, Eliminations, Repechage (one bronze medal).

In the end repechages are just unnecessary anyway, with boxing (where two losing semi-finalists being too injured to compete again is arguably more realistic than in the other sports) as exception, possibly.

It’s a long-term rule in boxing that you can’t fight for.....I think 21 days....after any defeat.

No, martial arts is about controlled damage.

What about those box-offs that were planed between quarterfinal losers in the OQTs?
