Ellie Black and Aurelie Tran secure their spots on the Canadian Olympic squad for women’s artistic gymnastics through the Canadian Championships, as the top two all-around finishers.

Felix’s all around score would have gotten the bronze at 2023 worlds and Ellie’s score would have placed her fourth.

Also Felix’s Vault and William Emards floor would have both gotten silver at 2023 worlds. Felix’s floor would have placed fourth.

Will Emard has been dealing with a bicep injury so it’s good to see he’s recovered enough to compete.

Just to explain:

Kelly Deguchi got the continental quota, that was pretty much safe already.

But now Cuba will probably lose one quota and not be a contender for Team Invitation. Canada, therefore, will be the only country from the Americas with 5 judokas and will most probably get a Team Invitation quota for Ana Laura PORTUONDO ISASI (the best in her category).

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid

    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
