I remember one commentator saying that Halkina has a body that "does not follow the standards" in rhythmic gymnastics because she has curves. CURVES! And some people even dared to call her fat because of that. NCAA, on the other hand, lets artistic gymnasts perform without a care in the world about their own weight. It’s the weird paradox of NCAA gymnastics that it’s the only event women do AFTER their Olympic career is over.

mrv86 3,138 Posted November 27, 2020 #23 Share Posted November 27, 2020 Watch today's Ball exercise for Groups. Really liked Israel routine, sadly the first 10-15 seconds of it just looks messy compared to the rest, they need to polish that. Azerbaijan won with a rather boring performance, but can't deny they didn't do any obvious mistakes to an untrained eye, and had good collaborations. Ukraine was going very well, loved their uniforms and apparatus color, very energetic performance, however they lost their chance to end up in the podium when they missed a ball. BTW, if you can forward the video to 20:42, you will listen to a familiar song for TISC fans. Spoiler thiago_simoes and Dnl

Today the competition was just half of the all-around event. The podiums will only be decided after tomorrow's events. mrv86

thiago_simoes 1,423 Posted November 27, 2020 Author #28 Share Posted November 27, 2020 Yikes, what an awful group competition today. Only Israel didn't have major mistakes, and Estonia did pretty well for their level. Turkey had a huge chance of winning a medal, but unfortunately they were very nervous. thiago_simoes 1,423 Posted November 28, 2020 Author #30 Share Posted November 28, 2020 Estonia with a bronze medal and Turkey with a gold medal. And Hungary for the first time ever with a medal in the junior competition. Take Russia out of the picture and suddenly other programs rise to the occasion. Interesting trivia: 1) This is Turkey's first gold medal in gymnastics at the European Championships in any discipline. Previously, Turkey earned one silver and two bronze medals in artistic gymnastics, and one silver medal in aerobic gymnastics. 2) Estonia's bronze medal was only the second-ever medal in gymnastics at the European Championships for the nation in any discipline. Their first medal was earned in TeamGym in 1996! A 24-year gap between these two medals. Gianlu33
