Winter Paralympic Games Milano Cortina 2026

:GER has joined the boycott. EU and more then 10 countries now

IPC is in panickicng about the opening ceremony.

According to the latest news they canceled athletes-flagbearers.

2 alternatives are on the table: volonteers or pre-recorded videos instead.

At the same time boycott means that we did not allow them to use our flag at the ceremony at all. So they are not allowed to simulate our presence.

I’m not sure the IPC will accept that. A country flag is not copyrighted.

The video sequence is due to be filmed today or tommrow if it hasn’t already.

I can also see the IPC pulling broadcaster accreditation. Let’s face it if Russia demands it Parsons will agree as he doesn’t want to go out the window.

Anyway....putting politics aside, we are off with Session 1 of the Mixed Doubles Curling!

Which C4 doesn’t seem to have commentary on. The You Tube stream just has the sound from the arena.

I think they can show it in some prepared video.

But using it physically at the ceremony will be a scandal.

Sorry, it is not so easy to put it aside for us. Just imagine feeling of the British athletes at the competition where Nazi flag was used during WW2.

By the way officials from :GBR :AUT :ROU joined the boycott

I don’t think that will stop the IPC.

Only France, a great power, is very good here.
