Terrible day for us in men's epee, no Hungarian in the Top8... The boys better get their shit together for the team event.

 

And the women's sabre event is even worse for us. I have no idea what happened to us today.

Never though something would top the grunts in tennis, but fencing has taken the cake. The women's screams after every single point is unbearable.. Especially Kharlan maniacal screeches. There should be fines and rules for such stuff.

Men’s sabre was like 90% screaming, 10% actual fencing when I tried to watch it the other day

because you've never watched Fencing (especially Sabre) in the 80', before the electrical target area and the video replay system were used. 

 

then, the screams were actually a tactic, in order to gain some influence on the refs' calls by showing yourself sure to have hit your opponent.

 

at that time, sabre was really a theatrical performance, way more than nowadays.

Yesss girls! We might still have a chance in women's foil, the girls demolished Spain today. 

 

Meanwhile we have the QFs in men's sabre, no upsets here in the R16.
