heywoodu 15,135 Posted September 1, 2019 #161 Share Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) And another provisional Olympic quota for the Dutch fleet, this time in men's double sculls. Too bad commentators aren't really in the known and think they can now go to the Olympics, Martin Haven (bobsleigh/skeleton) always knows everything Edited September 1, 2019 by heywoodu . Werloc 3,164 Posted September 1, 2019 #162 Share Posted September 1, 2019 These qualifications were so triggering I'm used to constantly worrying for Lithuanians in A finals. It was a very weird feeling to see them struggling so hard in B.
Bearas 521 Posted September 1, 2019 #163 Share Posted September 1, 2019 Two more quotas for Lithuania. I was worried we'll miss it, just like we bombed canoeing qualifications. Styrka and Werloc

OlympicsFan 858 Posted September 1, 2019 #165 Share Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) 15 hours ago, heywoodu said: Nice to see the Dutch team going pretty well again Not some insane improvement or something, they've always had several world class boats in Olympic disciplines so it's not like several medals is all too surprising or something, but nice 2018: 2 medals for the Netherlands in olympic events 2017: 1 medal for the Netherlands in olympic events 2015: 2 medals for the Netherlands in olympic events 2014: 0 medals for the Netherlands in olympic events 2013: 2 medals for the Netherlands in olympic events ... 2019: 4 medals for the Netherlands in olympic events AFTER DAY 1 ... So AFTER DAY 1 of the 2019 world championships the Netherlands have ONLY ONE MEDAL LESS in olympic events THAN THEY HAD IN THE LAST 4 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS COMBINED! Edit: I think it is only 4 medals in olympic events so far, so the Netherlands this year won 1 medal less after day one than in the last 4 editions combined. heywoodu 15,135 Posted September 1, 2019 #169 Share Posted September 1, 2019 And with that bronze, I believe this is the most succesful WCh ever for the Netherlands Styrka 1 .
Joshi 123 Posted September 1, 2019 #170 Share Posted September 1, 2019 It's quite obvious the US only care about the big boats. It will be interesting to see them v Ger/GB and NED in the M8+ and also v NZ in the W8+. They could walk away with minor medals in both though. Which would be a shock for their W8+ which is by far their strongest boat.
