The sport's quota have been cut because of a single doping test? Try that at the Olympics and you'll end up with a grand total of four events in two sports or something..

Was looking at the events programme, and it seems that they're will be only women events in pétanque/lyonnaise . Why is that ?

I have no clue. I know the sport had a rough time at Wroclaw 2017, but cutting a whole gender and a whole discipline seems harsh in that case. I’m sure it has to do with something else.
