I didn’t want to jinx anything, but I just arrived in Birmingham to cover The World Games 2022    It’s my first time attending a multi-sports games in-person, so hopefully it’s an enjoyable

Just tuned in for the powerlifting.   Surely this is not a serious sport? If you need 5 (!) officials standing around, protecting each athlete, then maybe just don't do it?

loses two medals due to anti-doping violations    Sveva Melillo  loses her gold medal in Muaythai (Women’s -54kg). Gold goes to Ashley Thiner , with Laura Burgos  upgraded to silver @mrv86.

Really bad considering they are showing jujitsu which I wonder anyone is gonna actually watch

Another guaranteed medal for GB! Fisher wins 9-5 to go in the final against Cheih-Yu Chou :TPE or Veronika Ivanovskaia :GER

Nothing in the Orienteering. Crickmore (41:46) 22nd and Street (45:25) in 29th. Ultimate frisbee team loses 13-12 so will come 8th

So apparently more than half of the Womens Duathlon athletes was disqualified after the race including (our sole athlete in the race, originally 15th) and the original gold medalist from :FRA and bronze medalist from :GER  because they all did 1 more lap in cycling than was necessary:roflmao:

 

They were furious agianst the organizers, in interviews, our athlete said to our NOC

 

"The organization on the track was disastrous. No one showed us the direction for the cycling in our first lap, we all in our leading group had no idea if we were going the right way. We were a larger group working together. I feel like we went a lap more than we should have... now after the race they disqualified all of us" :roflmao:

 

Sweet Alabama never disappoint :bowdown:
