It helps them somehow to be a bit higher in Olympic ranking or not too much?

Olympic rankings are calculated through a pairings 12 best finishes (In Futures, Challenges, Elite16s Continental Championships, Worlds) throughout the qualifying period. While it does count towards their total, Futures events don't award enough points to make a big impact on qualification (Winner at a Futures gets 400 PTS, the cutoff average will most likely be around 600 PTS).

The tournaments that will help most towards your OR are: World Champs (160-1600 PTS) Elite 16's (340-1200 PTS), Challenges (140-800), and Continental Cups (Don't know the points system, all I know is that you get 800 PTS if you win).

For Poland, Bryl/Losiak will almost definitely qualify through World Rankings. I'm high on Kantor/Zdybek too, and think they'll qualify. Gruszczynska/Wachowicz are a bit of a wild card, they could qualify, but they could also miss out, but whatever happens they'll probably be right on the cusp of qualification.

FIVB Elite 16 Gstaad, Switzerland :SUI

Women’s Tournament

Gold- Eduarda Santos Lisboa/Ana Patricia Silva Ramos :BRA

Silver- Kelly Cheng/Sara Hughes :USA

Bronze- Taryn Kloth/Kristen Nuss :USA

Men’s Tournament

Gold- Miles Partain/Andy Benesh :USA

Silver- Anders Mol/Christian Sørum :NOR

Bronze- Andre Loyola Stein/George Souto Wanderley :BRA

Bryl :POL fractured his toe midway through the men's bronze medal match (21-18, 11-7 POL) and as a result, they had to retire, giving the Brazilians a spot on the podium. Final between Mol/Sorum and Partain/Benesh was very high-quality beach volleyball, would definitely give it a watch if you have time. Mol/Sorum are some of my favorite athletes, so was extremely gutted to see the match not going in their favor.  Partain/Benesh are legit though, thought Ostrava was a fluke, but oh was I proven wrong. Could potentially see them medaling come Paris 2024.

Duda/Ana Patricia and Hughes/Cheng are the two best female pairings in the world now, by a decent margin, so not surprised to see them competing for gold. Another 5th for Mel/Brandie (Now 3 5ths at FIVB level in 5 tournaments), and now they're starting to turn into TKN :p

Never heard of the men's gold/silver medalists before this tournament. Also, surprising to see Samoilovs/Smedins fail to make the podium.

    • That is absolutely certain. Any somewhat reasonable politician should be good enough to win against someone like Trump, even with the unfortunate timing (for the Democrats) of having to carry the brunt of the COVID pandemic consequences and so any Republic having a bit of a head start anyway.   But yeah, dreadful performance overall from Harris, who seemed to start quite positively, but then just lowered herself to Trump's level in terms of throwing shit at each other. That was a terribly dumb choice, nobody is going to beat Trump at the insult game, as we have seen.

    • It was never a priority to stop the war but to prolong it to offload the old weapons systems and keep Russia occupied in a conflict. But the West's strategy backfired as it pushed Russia to friendship with China. Many don't realize as Russia and China are actually adversaries even when they shared a common ideology during the Soviet era
