Sheesh, there’s no point in us hosting international events if  are going to win everything.  
 

Wow, incredible, there are actually dolphins swimming on the swimming course in the harbour!   Dunno what their running & cycling is like though!

and in fact they axed next year's race in Leeds because of the increasing cost

In an Olympic year, the chances of getting a top quality field are likely to diminish so the return on investment is likely to be lower than in previous years and without the pull of the Brownlees it's not a surprising decision.

 Barclay Izzard finally records a decent individual result in a WTCS event! (Even if it is probably one of the weakest lineups we've seen in a while)

Was a bit surprised at the pretty poor turnout from  athletes for the Sunderland leg of WTCS but it looks like Yee, Brownlee, GTB, Potter and Coldwell will all be looking to secure their qualification for Paris

Funny incident in the relay in Sunderland today when a  lady mixed up the  &  flags - got a time penalty which cost  bronze.

Yep, took me until today to work out what they were playing at, as it is so bad for the publicity for the event for all the home stars not to attend. Barclay Izzards 8th will come as a pleasant surprise to selectors, and the relay result today was spectacularly unexpected. If GTB gets back to health, GBR can give the French a run for their money. If not, the French will walk out. Interesting that the next female Brit off the rank, Kate Waugh, has made a great start to her career, yet the cupboard remains bare for the men...
