phelps 6,862 Posted February 25, 2023 #93 Share Posted February 25, 2023 not a bad day at the office for Italy in particular, first ever win in a senior world cup tournament for Martina Favaretto...and what a win! she did it in style, destroying every oppenent she's faced (except for Cipressa in the 2nd round, that was damn close). today she was just in a class of her own Adriano and maestro
Josh 5,697 Posted February 25, 2023 #94 Share Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) 5th for Eleanor Harvey (WR #4), and 11th for Jessica Guo (WR #8) at the Women’s Foil Grand Prix in Cairo, Egypt Guo lost to Pauline Ranvier (14-11) in the Table Of 16, while Harvey lost to Martina Batini (15-13) in the Table Of 8. A pretty good result if you ask me, although I do wish they made it onto the podium Kelleigh Ryan (WR #35) finished in 63rd, losing in the Table Of 64 to Ysaora Thibus (15-10) Other Results: Yunjia Zhang 52, Sabrina Fang T57, Jane Caufield 88, Nadia Hayes 126, Jessie Chen 130 Edited February 25, 2023 by Josh

phelps 6,862 Posted February 26, 2023 #98 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Just now, Adriano said: Poland 4th. Maybe we have some chance for Olympics here. yes, with Russia out (and France & Italy in the top 4 overall) Poland are the strongest contenders for the European spot. You have to avoid early round eliminations when the OQP starts, but I think right now you're a better team than Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic (your main rivals). phelps 6,862 Posted March 3, 2023 #100 Share Posted March 3, 2023 yesss! great first world cup win for one of our most promising youngsters this time he could manage the pressure and didn't waste any chance, like it happened in Warsaw in the previous WC stage. meanwhile, not a great day for our stars...but you can't have it all.
