An invitational Hockey5s tournament was held in Lausanne.

 

Uruguay's Cimarronas won the women's event with five straight wins over Switzerland (twice), South Africa, India and Poland.

 

India won the men's event, defeating Poland in the final. Pakistan, Switzerland and Malaysia were the other teams.

South Africa defeated Ireland at the Men's Hockey Nations Cup final, and will play the 2023-24 Men's Pro League.

 

India defeated Spain at the Women's Hockey Nations Cup final, and will play the 2023-24 Women's Pro League.

The summary of the results is that SA will take the African quota in men's and India should win the Asian Games n get the quota for Asia in women.

    • So 5 of Australia's top 6 current WTA players were not born in Australia. Only Gadecki was.   At least Birrell lived most of her life there and Joint has an Australian parent. Even Saville at least eventually married an Aussie even though when she first got citizenship it was a total joke.   Tomljanovic and Kasatkina playing for Australia is so weird. Also it's quite pathetic a country like Australia, with so many resources for tennis, has to keep naturalizing players because they can't produce their own talents...
