Weightlifting EWF European Championships 2019

Recommended Posts

Great thing we have a commentator on Dutch Eurosport. For example, he can explain why world records are often higher than European records: "In events like world championships, countries from all over the world participate, which is why the records are often a big higher than the European records!"

Thanks.

Finally a European title once again for us! Since 2014 we didn't have any in weightlifting with the many, many stupid scandals. Bozhidar Andreev with an european receord in the 73kg olympic category. :champion:

Just to clarify, because the Dutch commentators are more than once saying some things that just make no sense at all: is Daniyar Ismayilov indeed 100% certain to miss the Olympics because of his failure?

I didn't follow this. but I assume he bombed out , right ?

he also bombed out in Fajr Cup in Tehran, which means he has no result in past 6 months, which means 0 points for him in first window. so no technically he can't qualify for the Olympics.

for Olympic qualificatioin, best result in each window plus the next best one will be counted. for Ismailov his best result in first window is 0. and that's impossible to qualify with 3 results comparing to 4 of others.

Yep. Leading the snatch with 147kg against 146kg for second place, after which he tried 154 (WR)....followed by three misses on CJ

well that's stupid. extremely stupid. because of the current Olympic qualification rules which limited top countries to 4 or even 2 maximum the level will be low at the Olympics he could be a strong medal contender.
