oh well, now i’ll just have to convince my dutch colleagues to support Portugal on the World Cup :p

Yeah.....no, that's not gonna happen, trust me :d

We'd rather support the Germans than the Portuguese after the last 13 years :p

While I was watching the South American qualifiers, the CONCACAF one's went from USA play-offs, Honduras out, Panama in, to Honduras in, USA out, Panama play-offs etc, and when I woke up, it was USA out, Honduras play-offs and Panama in, awesome :yikes:

What is the doubt about Panama's goal here? I mean, apart from the commentator having a major orgasm, I don't really see/hear anything that would make it doubtful? He gets the ball and he scores, that's not unheard of in football :d

Oh wait, the discussion is about Panama's first goal. Yeah, that may seem about right :p

Indeed. Stuff like that gets ignored in football, but I'd take it with a pinch of salt since we are talking about someone as "irrelevant" as Panama...

Oh well, I doubt it but who knows it could be another sort of wake-up call to show that football is arguably the worst sport in the world in terms of 'going with the times'. It's of course inexcusable that stuff like video-referees and goal-line technology aren't 100% adopted in every major competition yet (not to even speak of simply stopping the clock, so those thousands of players who are suddenly nearly dying of pain when someone looks at them wrong and their team is leading won't actually 'win' free time anymore).

Football can barely be taken seriously because of these simple things they just seem to refuse to adopt on a large scale.

Excuse me, but did he just score a goal? My Spanish isn't good so I couldn't hear it :p

This is why I most likely won't move to South America, it's impossible to watch sports without commentators like this I think :d (I mean, dude, tell me who made the goal, what it means etc, you know, be a commentator )

    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
