Women's Football UEFA European Championship 2022

Recommended Posts

Hope to see :ESP perform well in this tournament. Would be really happy if they can finally make that big step on a major tournament. With the men we also always were there with the favourites, but never delivered until ‘08. Hopefully here the big break comes earlier.

I’m not thrilled by :NED though. Miedema is the only weapon. Yesterday was luckless but still horrendous, such a performance would even give problems against :SUI

allocation of quotas for the Olympic Games?  Or will it be during the World Cup?

It’s always during the World Cup, which is one year before the games. This tournament is usually in the post-games year, but has been rescheduled due to the men’s tournament being in 2021 and the men’s worlds being in november/december for reasons we all know.

No Hermoso nor Putellas would be a crushing blow to the Spanish title chances. And with the Dutch probably quickly out, these days won’t be too great for me.

A home win looking more and more likely by the minute.

I have tickets to every :ENG game

I can't believe what I'm seeing, Hermoso and Putellas out, this is the chance for something very special, I can only dream, in all my years following women's football, this could be the summer it finally goes *bang* in England

As now we come across the world
To share these Games of old
Let all the flags of every land
In brotherhood unfold

Well that was very underwhelming but we are basically through the group now

To share these Games of old

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
