It is beyond pathetic, but if they would have any kind of shame/self-awareness, they never would have made it to the "top". Guys like them can't accept that they will never be admired, so they have to try to steal some of the attention from the truly meaningful people in this world.

I don’t agree with you very often but here we agree.

It's cuz he said south american teams couldn't win WC last few times because they don't play "high level matches". That quote got a lot buzz and backlash here so probably the players were waiting to have their "comeback".

Also, there were rumors that Mbappe wanted all the south americans out of PSG to have his own group as majority so maybe there's something on that as well.

All South Americans = Messi, Neymar and Marquinhos? There might be personal tension between Neymar/Messi and Mbappe but to portray it as Europe vs South America is sad. Also, so what if Mbappe said those things, you guys won. Martinez was the star of the show. You had your revenge. Don't allocate a special room to Mbappe in your brain. Enjoy and focus on future. Some trolling is fine and honestly adds flavor to the game but it is fast approaching towards farce.

I still find it a bit of “small team” style to celebrate the defeat of others instead of the winning (specially being the most important trophy of football), but again, if you win such a trophy (and specially if you normally play in clubs that don’t win nothing) you are allowed to celebrate the way you like, no matter how jerk can it look.

Those guys should get some kind of statues for bringing so much happiness to that many people
