Men's Football FIFA World Cup 2022

I have an idea why the host team isn't in the opening match. Because there are 4, FOUR fricken matches in a day and the host can't play at damn noon. Of course they'd want to play in the evening, when it would be more convenient for the home fans. Prepare in 2026 to have matches from 10 in the morning till midnight. Damn fools..

Only for the third time ever World Cup opening match will not feature either the host nation or the defending champion.

The only two other WC where that happened was 1930 ( :FRA vs :MEX ) and 1938 ( :SUI vs :GER ). Even when multiple opening games started at the same time (last time in 1962) either the host or defending champion was playing. In 1934 all eight R16 matches started on the same day at the same time.

:SEN vs :NED will be the 2022 WC opening match.

Start times for :POL matches:

November 22nd (Tuesday) 17:00 CET vs :MEX

November 26th (Saturday) 14:00 CET vs :KSA

November 30th (Wednesday) 20:00 CET vs :ARG

The Latin American teams, that would be 11am local in Mexico and 2pm local in Argentina (DST included)?

according to the federation the complaint against gassama this corrupted referee will be discuss by FIFA in 21 april , sanctions are possible

he commited many mistakes like :2 clear penalties  for ALG refused , he also refused the call of VAR against cameroon many times especially their first goal was clearly a fault for goalkeeper (the German referee of Var called gassama to check it  but he refused) + many yellow cards , he cancelled the 2nd  goal of ALG   ....etc

in total he was paid to push cameroon for the win

they also accepted the complaint of Egypt : senegalese used Laser/ throwed bottles

+ the Egyptian federation revealed that 4 qualified  teams have players tested positive of doping

this draw shouldn't be held quickly like that, they helped cheaters to qualify

Apparently :EGY has a good chance to replay the match vs Senegal , their federation did 1 good job with lawyers from switzerland

to compare with :ALG they sent complaint of mistakes commited by the referee without any effort

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
