I forgot to play the last game :(

Looks like the emotional US boys completely dominated Russians... But only in penalty minutes. Kind of expected after watching the earlier games. :d

Watching the shorttrack now and it's unbelievable how bad the TV directors were, every single time :yikes:

I mean, they didn't show most events these Youth Olympics, but at least they showed shorttrack...and then they did it that bad, only showing the leader even if the leader is completely alone and there's a huge fight behind them.

5 medals is a very good result for Spain considering we didn't win a single medal in 2016 and 2012. Hopefully, this generation will help to develop Winter sports in the country and we can regularly win at least 1 or 2 medals at the Olympics.

Oh and what's the logic behind the shorttrack relay having both letters and colours? They're only mentioned as "Team A", "Team G" etc on the start lists, while the commentator literally only mentions their colours ("the blues are in front, but here come the whites!"). Meaning you have to follow three separate things (athletes, colours and letters) to follow your favourite athletes

And even worse: in the final, the commentator just keeps calling Shogo Miyata (Japanese, male) Kim Chan-seo (South Korean, female) throughout the entire final  I don't know how he doesn't see it's clearly not a South Korean suit he's wearing.

Even worse: he doesn't even know Kim is a girl. "And Kim Chan-seo gets another gold medal to go with his 1000m gold medal!" That's just two wrong things in one: Kim is a girl and Kim got 1000m silver

Overall, a great edition of the Youth Olympics. It once again raised the image of profile of the YOG. It gave us exciting competitions, and worked as a great teaser for Beijing 2022.

    • That's it. The 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics have come to a close! We have seen incredible performances each day, with ups, downs and all sorts of emotions. After two weeks, how do you rate these games?   Average after Day 4 - 6,38 Average after Day 8 - 6,18 Average after Day 12 - 6,63   This poll will be open for a week as there's more time to reflect on them now.
    • Sorry I should he more clear. If an event is added using the existing athletes, then that should be encouraged.
    • The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have now officially come to an end. These were the fourth Winter Olympic Games since Totallympics was founded, and the eighth Olympic Games overall, including the Summer editions!   I truly hope you enjoyed these Games, and even more, that you enjoyed experiencing them here on Totallympics!    The Olympic period always brings strong emotions, both positive and negative. Passion is what makes sport special, but sometimes frustration can spill over into comments on the forum. I hope no one felt hurt or upset by other users’ posts. I did my best to act quickly by editing or removing provocative comments, but I may have missed something along the way. If anyone felt offended by a post that was not removed, I sincerely apologize.   Now, after a well-deserved rest, it’s time to look ahead. Our focus shifts to Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games, and the road has already begun: the first direct Olympic qualification event starts in less than two weeks with the 2026 World Baseball Classic (check out our 2026 Qualification Calendar for all the details!), and many other indirect qualifications have already begun.   Some clubs were extremely active during the Games, and I hope you enjoyed following the Olympics together with your compatriots. Now it’s time to switch into “LA28 mode”! Please make sure your club includes a dedicated section for Los Angeles 2028, and feel free to start opening threads related to qualification events and early predictions. This is a great opportunity to attract new users, and whenever new members join Totallympics, I will make sure they are invited to their respective national club.   To create new sections or reorganize threads within a club, you need to be an “owner” of that club. But don’t let the name intimidate you, it’s much simpler than it sounds! Each club can have multiple owners, and it does not require any special skills or a significant time commitment. If you would like to help organize content, create new sections, or manage threads more efficiently, just contact me and I will gladly grant you the necessary permissions.   Also, if anyone would like to change their username, this might be the right time to do so, whether it’s a small adjustment (a letter, a number, capitalization) or a complete change, feel free to contact me. I can update it for you without the need to create a new account.    And finally, a classic post-Olympic question: Will you continue visiting Totallympics on the road to LA28?      Thank you to everyone who contributed during these weeks. The Games may be over, but the journey on Totallympics continues. I look forward to seeing you around the forum very soon!
    • I do not agree. If more events, increase quotas. There are needed to qualify athletes minimum in top 30, not to have just 5 athletes/teams in competition. No more jokes as mixed aerials or men's relay cross country  Maybe decrease athletes per country in same event. To have 3 4bobs are too much, if i compare for example with 1 athletes per country in risky canoeing slalom
    • Dominated the majority of game, couldn't capitalize on many opportunities. Hellebuyck was a brick wall. Gg USA.   I still hate your team
