How do you see the results there? I click on those things and all that happens is that it expends, no results come up.

I'm also lost

And btw Toguz korgool and Mangala is just a variation of "Congklak" (Indonesian traditional game). Man, we should've sent children to those events

:KGZ Kyrgyzstan topped the medal table with 79 medals (25 gold). :TKM Turkmenistan 2nd with 24 (15 gold). You don't see those nations at the top very often. :d

  • 2 weeks later...

Asian Beach Games Opening is on the way in Da Nang, Vietnam. Guess who is joining the party

images_zpsnzls9vz7.jpg

P.S: It's a bit unfortunate for Vietnam as strong winds and rain started right after the opening sequence and the giant screen failing afterwards

It's a shame the Asian Beach Games don't have more water sports, the water is like half the beach. Sailing is a bit omission, you could also add surfing or water skiing. Canoeing isn't exactly a beach sport, but you do have rowing (maybe paddle-boarding).

I'm also glad cross-country made it to the program. I personally find it more interesting that the 10000m track event.

I always thought that cross-country would need to replace steeplechase and not 10000m, since the idea of steeplchase seems to be to recreate the cross-country conditions inside the stadium. Although, cross-country will also need to have jumps then.

This is completely up to the host nation to set the program, I believe only few sports like Beach soccer and beach volley have a safe place.

btw I have hard time to understand Iranian officials. they pulled out all team sports from the competition, Iran had a very good chance for few gold medals here. even in other sports they are just participating, without really caring about the results, they didn't use maximum quota they could. and also no female athletes at all !!

I can't understand, if they care, why sending such a depleted delegation, and if they don't care (which I can understand since this is not a big deal) why they are sending small group of athletes in 9 different sports !! :mumble:

Unfortunately, there is no a special pool of sports that can be contested in Asian Beach Games. They omitted many water sports but added some unrelated ones like Muay and 3x3 basketball. Those are the examples of "moving a sport to a beach and call it beach sport". I hope OCA can make a better regulation to standardize the Games.

Well there are basketball courts near beaches where I live, but I get your point.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
