Dominating performance by :EGY Egypt and :JOR Jordan, with :RUS Russia also getting many medals (especially in the U-14 division) and :UKR Ukraine being a powerhouse in the women's Cadet division...

 

for :ITA Italy, very good results in the women's Junior Kumite lighter weights and in all the Kata events, as usual...

 

as always happens in Karate, however, a lot of Nations are on the final medal table...

Iran's Youth Olympics Gold medalist Navid Mohammadi died today morning in a car accident at the age of 18 :(:cry:

this week in general was tragic for our Karate, Fatemeh Chalaki , two times Asian Games bronze medalist and multiple times Premiere League medalists had another serious car accident and she will most probably lose one of her eyes :cry: we won't see her on Tatami anymore.

Does anyone know why Dimitrova competes for :DOM, instead of :BUL?

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
