George_D 928 Posted October 16, 2023 #112 Share Posted October 16, 2023 So you’ll definitely play for Canada in the 2024 Olympics? Wiggins: “Yeah, I would love to.” https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/news-would-love-all-star-all-defensive-player-andrew-wiggins-bouncing-back-rib-injury-warriors-ahead-2023-24-season-exclusive Josh

It was getting them to play in the qualifications that was the problem. Canada has amazing up front talent, but not the depth. It's sort of like our women's swimming relays; our team is a medal contender, but we can't afford to remove many pieces to get to those finals. JoshMartini007 2,370 Posted October 17, 2023 #114 Share Posted October 17, 2023 The bigger question is whether the coaching staff is willing to punish Wiggins for his non-involvement. It's cutting your nose to spite the face vibe, but if he doesn't show up for any camps between now and the Olympics I think it's a possibility. Josh 7,759 Posted February 8 #118 Share Posted February 8 67-55 win over Hungary to start off the women’s basketball Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Sopron, Hungary. Not a great win, but I’ll take it. Surlympics and intoronto
Josh 7,759 Posted February 10 #119 Share Posted February 10 (edited) So if I’m reading this properly, win against Japan and we’re in, lose and we’ll need Spain to beat Hungary? Edit: Yup. Edited February 11 by Josh
Josh 7,759 Posted February 10 #120 Share Posted February 10 Also, while it could happen, I hate when people say “they won’t try because they have nothing to play for” They’re athletes, they want to win. With the Olympics guaranteed, any win would be a momentum booster.
