Man that is some history  or better Nelson Debenedet and Bobby Mano :p

Italy needs all the active players from this list (and we would have needed also the already retired players, when they were on top of their game)...

however, what we really need is: a) money...a lot of moneyb) infrastrucures, c) kids that really want to play (and why not? succeed in a hockey career), d) most important to start with, interest by our media (to make money and bring up kids, which would lead to building more infrastrucures and so on...we do really need a virtuous circle that's impossible right now and with all our current political and sports leaders)...

Interesting, I always thought that if Russia stopped the invasion before the end of 2022 (probably more hopeful than realistic), they would be brought back for the 2023 sporting season in which case this decision would be a bit premature.

If the other summer sports follow through with the same plan then it'll have a lot of implications for qualification to the 2024 Olympics.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
