[OFF TOPIC] Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Actually, I like this voting sequence better than the one they had previously. I was pleasantly surprised that Norway won the televote, but shocked that North Macedonia with its sleeper ballad did so well with the juries. Of course it was inevitable that the Netherlands would win, but I cheered for them anyway.

Also, why y'all gotta do Malta like that tho?

While I'm not a fan of the jury , I totally agree with Iceland , ESC is not the place for that stuff.

ESC is the place for that political stuff, as tons of songs show year after year :p

No offence to Norway, but the song that they've sent was beyond awful. It was on par with the crime against music when Romania sent yodelling.

The jury nearly picked Macedonia, a very bland, uninteresting song with a vocalist that's middle of the pack and for the first time in my life, I couldn't even sing a single line of it, cause I don't remember it.

Thank fuck that with the combined votes, we at least got Netherlands in 1st and Italy in 2nd and ultimately there were at least five songs in the top 10 that were good.

Norway received most televotes ( which included 8 12 points) , so you're a minority there.

It's not allowed by ESC though. And the icelandic protest was unnecessary .

Yeah, I remember the yodelling got a lot of televotes too, so I'm not very surprised actually. Still doesn't really change the fact that the song had an awful conception as was somewhat shown by the low score from the jury.

I loved Norway in 2014, adored Norway in 2015 and loved Norway again in 2017. Last year it was Rybak with the worst lyrics of 2018 (and that's in a year where we had songs like Gucci gang), so I am really really hoping Norway can make this right with a wonderful song in 2020, because I miss enjoying your music.

Melodical conception was bad.

The beats during the chorus were giving me PTSD from all of the cheapest Swedish Eurovision beats that they used to love to send.

Combined with a man that struggles to sing at all

I felt sorry for the woman, she's a solid performer.

    • So I was watching a replay of China-Germany in between Canada’s game against Sweden and this one against Italy and… it seems like China cheated during it which could’ve been critical in them winning the match?    During the 1st end, Xu with his last rock had an easy hit for the single against three German stones. One of the sweepers for China (I can’t tell which one, this team is quite new to me) “accidentally” kicked their own stone, which redirected one of their own stones into the rings, and Germany only got the steal of 2. HIS FUCKING FOOT IS TOUCHING THE ROCK   Now after, Team Xu was claiming that the stone was picked (it was not) and Muskatewitz was arguing that it couldn’t possibly have been picked. China wouldn’t admit it, and they ended up winning the game 10-9. BOO.    Hope these cheaters don’t qualify for the Olympics.
    • Edin usually has mediocre seasons though (that being said this has been worse than usual), then really starts to show up for Worlds. He’s only won 4 GSOC events in his career.     They’re at a 4-2 record at the moment, so seems to be the case again. Plus, they played really well in their loss to Canada.
    • I'm in tears, finally I have access after months. For some reason I can only enter the site from my phone. Surely it must be a problem with my home internet connection.
    • With a week to go till the deadline for the world invitational, the rosters look beefy for the discus on both sides.24 entries for the men[19 accepted in so far] and 25 for the women[18 accepted so far] For the men so far there are three 70 meter throwers[i count Denny as that since it's just 4 centimeters off his pb]10 from mid 66 to low 69,three of 65 and over, four from almost 64 to almost 65.On the women's side the 18 accepted throwers all have a pb of over 60 meters.11 of them have  pbs over 64 plus.of the ones still not there besides Valerie and Yaime who have been marketed so i can only assume they will join, such names as  Sandra Elkasevic,Bin Feng, and jordine van klinken aren't signed up yet, jordine's probably the most likely of them to join in tough feng would be a cool surprise,i somehow don't see Sandra doing this, but it would be awesome if she did.Stahl and ceh aren't in yet on the men's side, ceh has been marketed while stahl hasn't been mentioned at all,[pretty sure stahl will not be there],Lukas[last name is too wild for me to even try] and lawrence okoye aren't there yet either but i'm betting both will be joining in.
    • What a shame. That would have been amazing.
    • It's complete American domination in the women's discus rankings so far this year, they occupy the top 4 slots, and the WORST result of those four was achieved at Ramona .Third place currently belongs to Ciera Jackson who had a huge almost 4 METER pr at the west coast relays on friday-64.42[previous best was 60.77 from march of 2023,and she opened her season a week ago with at that time her second best result ever of 60.14]she also had a 63.66 throw to back this new pb up,and finally with her new personal best she took down the school record that stood for 36 YEARS[Btw Valerie Allman actually competed in Ramona on march 30th but conditions were apparently far from ideal and she fouled four times and her best was a 63.61,i don't doubt that in the event that she competes in the  world intational, the conditions will be perfect,i wouldn't be so bold as to say she wouldl get the world record but for sure i think she could get a new personal best.
    • So after finding this this morning     I started to search for more news about the date and ticket prices all over the world web !   I found this then       to just notice later that   it was April fools     so yeah, that was my day
