Christa Deguchi wins women’s 57kg gold at the Antalya Grand Slam, also managing to get her revenge on Faiza Mokdar in the process! This result now adds a further 1000 points towards her Olympic Ranking, and increases her lead on Klimkait to 2700 points, who chose to skip this tournament.

Klimkait needs to win World Championships, and the Olympic Ranking if she wants to be at Paris (according to Judo Canada’s selection criteria), so quite a puzzling decision.

Arthur Margelidon has had a rough stretch to start off the season, but rebounds here to win gold in men’s 73kg!

Helps improves his Olympic seeding, as

he’ll be trying to finish among the top 8 in the Olympic ranking in order to avoid the seeds before the quarterfinals.

Christa Deguchi won silver in women’s 57kg (slightly disappointing, even if she did lose to Rafaela Silva), and Kelly Deguchi won bronze in women’s 52kg. Julien Frascadore 7th in men’s 66kg.

Gold for Shady El-Nahas, and silver for Kyle Reyes in men’s -100kg! Francois Gauthier-Drapeau also wins silver in men’s -81kg!

Forgot to mention the other two medalists (oops)

Ana Laura Portuondo Isasi won a very surprising silver in women’s +78kg (hadn’t heard of her before today), and John Jr Messe A Bessong won bronze in men’s +100kg. Deschenes (+100kg) and Krieber Gagnon (-90kg) both finished off the podium.
