I love the look of these games . The logo is great, I like the light blue and yellow color pattern. These games feel like a decent deal. It looks and feels like an event that should be taken semi-seriously and I’m so down. It looks like we’ll have great live coverage as well. TV Information hasn’t been released yet, but because Qatar only got the games 4 months ago, I’d say they’re doing a fantastic job. This week’s been a whirlwind of information on these games, and with 30 days to go I would expect a lot more to come out soon.

I haven’t study up on recent results yet, so I don’t how competitive each group is. To me Women’s Group A looks like a killer, same with men’s Group B.

Group A and B look like the tougher groups on the men’s side. Overall I like the diversity of nations involved.

I got bored today, so I thought I’d spend the rest of the day breaking down how NOCs qualified athletes in the various sports.

    • I think the reason is that it's generally preferable to have a fast shooter in the 1st leg, and especially in the prone shooting, where Hofer is quite slow.   Now, I'm not saying I agree with the choice, because I don't. I think it's going to neutralize Giacomel's skiing skills in the 1st lap at least.   I guess the idea is to try and set a very fast pace in the 1st leg, which is usually quite tactical, but I'm afraid that's going to force Giacomel to risk too much because he will feel he has to make some time somehow.   Regardless, Italy must be on the podium tomorrow. I think that would be crucial for the following races as well. I think France is the clear favorite, but the other teams are not stronger than Italy on paper.
