Kharlan is back, 11th place not bad. Kudos to Bakastova, she makes 2 15-14 upsets for her opponents

Georgiadou is now 5th in the rankings :yikes:

It's incredible how much she improved in the last year since she was denied the chance to qualify for Tokyo

Gkountoura is also still top 10, it's great to have two Greeks in the top 10. I didn't think it was possible after Vougiouka retired in 2016 that any other Greek fencer would make the top 5/top 10 for many years. It's a shame that only one of them will be able to make it to Paris 2024 with this current qualification system. Though we did get 9th in the team event here which is a big improvement from the past.

Greece went up from 39 to 25 in the team rankings (women's sabre). I think we could make the top 10/12 or at least top 15 within the next year based on our recent results (13th and 9th). We were very close to beating Poland. Actually our third fencer (Mpenou) did far better than expected. Georgiadou and Gkountoura lost us some points.

if she can train constantly together with the 2 more skilled and experienced girls, she's surely going to raise her level in the next months/years...

maybe she's not going to be as good as the other 2, but you normally only need a solid 3rd fencer to be good in the team events...

there are very few teams with 3 true top class specialists (actually, only Russia and France, tbh)...

We lost 44-45 against :AZE even though we were 2 up entering the last relay. Because of this we lost the ranking position with them just before the European Championship, which means that we can face  :UKR in T16. That's a disaster..

    • And this is the final Medal Table fo the XX Bolivarian Games in
    • Agreed. But OTOH, the chances of a Male Team pursuit medal also seem rather slim at the moment, so why the hassle of dropping someone.
    • I have a sports database with millions of entries, which I then convert graphically on my Wikipedia sandbox.
    • Wouldn't be surprised to see the same this time. The men's 500m has basically on or with luck two medal chances, but certainly not three (semi-realistic) ones. With Beau Snellink for now not exactly on his way to an Olympic ticket and Patrick Roest still questionable, that might only leave Chris Huizinga, Jorrit Bergsma and Marcel Bosker, and that is not exactly a group one would want to have in the team pursuit.
