Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2021 - 2022

Recommended Posts

Temperature has dipped, and arguably, the piste looks better than yesterday.

Would be pretty controversial if it got cancelled altogether...

And the race is on for tomorrow! :cheer:

Projected start time is set at 13:00 CET.

Profiting from the wave of colder temperatures that seems to be sweeping across Central Europe from tonight or something? :cheer:

If the worst came to the worst, they could just transfer it to Maribor.  :roflmao:

Good, that they reached a solution to have it tomorrow. It will probably be a better race, than what it was going to be today. Still, it's interesting that they didn't initially schedule it for the evening today, given that they knew very well, what the weather conditions would be and had it in the afternoon...

Could be that it was the last time we see WC in Zagreb.

I don't think so. Because this venue has much tradition and the athletes receive the most prize money in slalom, so the athletes would also commit to it. And also the date is usually during the week, so there would be no direct competitors who would then hold races.
And the last few years the races were held in reasonably acceptable conditions.

It is not about that. The City of Zagreb has a new mayor and he already announced that the city will not contribute to the budget any longer And that was a large part. Kind of understandable considering they will start fireing  people in public service.

    • I used to think Johnston(e) - from some place John build (aka stone for building something hehe).   I'm not familiar if Scottish or Irish clans are named after such clan founder or a place?
    • i'm triggered,legitimately thought kennedy 2.0 happened,just way more out of nowhere
    • Perfectly obvious.    Johnson = son of John Johnston or Johnstone = From St John's Town ie Perth in Scotland.
    • Nope. Azu missed out by 0.01. Bromell lost silver by 0.001!
