Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2021 - 2022

Recommended Posts

Conditions looking good in Canada, clear & bright. Dark clouds on the horizon though.

They’re running from the women’s starting gate, so a bit lower than normal.

Jared Goldberg :USA gets the first spectacular wipe-out of the season, walks away.

Pure quality. On the ES Player coverage of the Alpine skiing, we get an exclusive insight of commentator Nick Fellows arguing with tech support in Paris about whether he has installed the latest software patches.  :roflmao:

Took me right back. That used to be my job.  (Convincing arrogant senior people to install software patches, not commentating on alpine skiing.)

Well, next stop for the girls is :CAN Lake Louise. Maybe they could cover the cancelled GS there on Dec. 6th. But maybe racing too many days in the row may mean many complaints. Courchevel might be more reasonable.....

No way they're going to race downhill, downhill, super-G, giant slalom on consecutive days :p

A regular two-race weekend stands a better chance, if it'd be covered at all.

Well, the problem ist that the technique skiers are then already back in Europe so that is no possibility.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
