They already announced Mallory and Kimberly for the WKX, but only Joe for the MKX. Burgess doesn't want to do it, though he could do so - this was the chance to get a XC specialist in for the men.

Kimbereley absolutely guaranteed to do XC - there may be a calculation/conversation on whether mallory wants to step back - my money would be on absolutely not.

Thanks for heads up 💪💪 Hope Czech will get the extra quota 😁😁

Confirmation of :GBR position - Burgess added to MKX along with Clarke, but no change to Woods/Franklin in WKX.  (Subject to ratification by BOA.)  If so, the additional KX quota will have to be returned.

Interesting Franklin only doing the KX at this weekend's World Cup, after some average results in recent races.  I am a bit surprised they did not swap her out and put Setchell into the KX after her performance last weekend.  Otherwise seems little point in entering the Women's race last week if you are not changing anything.

One wonders if it was about setting up 1st reserve on the women's side, with the understanding that a situation MAY arise where Franklin thinks better of it and pulls out of the CX. Unlike the men, Mallory and Kimberley are each other's reserves in the main boats. Stechell is now in place to step in.

CONFIRMED!!

:GBR has declined the women's kayak cross quota which goes directly to :CZE thanks to 4th place in the qualification race. Tereza Fišerová has been confirmed to represent in kayak cross only 😊

I’m still slightly baffled by the qualification for kayak cross. Is it per spot in C1 and K1 the nation can pick an alternative competition in KX or do they have to use the same competitor?

Every qualified athlete in C1 & K1 can take part in the Kayak Cross if he/she wishes. If acountry qualified 3rd athlete via Kayak Cross qualifiers will enter him/her only in the kayak Cross at the expense of one of the two originally qualified

  • 3 weeks later...

I don’t know how, but Ireland has received a place in women’s C1 event

We had qualified in the other 3, but we’re sending a full team including wc1

The initial Canoe Ireland team “nomination” announcement didn’t include her. So it’s obviously a late development

EDIT; todays announcement states they’ll all do the cross too

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.

    • Don't know if someone else is collecting Euro coins, but since we joined the zone it's been fun looking at what you can get.    It took only 2 months, but today i finally got my first Slovakian coin.  @hckošice
