Points for guessing difference should be reduced in some sports (or conversely points for right winner should be increased), yes. Right now it's possible that you get 18 for predicting wrong winner, while at the same time it's possible that you get 10 for predicting right winner. With 20+20 predicting right winner will give you more points in every scenario.
