On the other hand, i wonder what happened with Olympic Channel. I had it installed on my Android but today i encountered notification only about Tokyo 2020 app. Everything else is absent. Does anyone know what happened with OC? They’re also revamping/creating a new app during this period, which I believe they plan to drop in time for Tokyo 2020. I didnt see your post from May 2nd. Thanks for the reply. Maybe you could give me an advice. Whats the best way to see those full replays from Rio, Beijing and other OGs? I checked their site and its rather confusing, with plenty of cookies banners and so on. Is there any link for those replays? Thanks in advance. Is there any link for those replays? Thanks in advance. No problem. There are two fairly good ways to find full session/event replays. The first option is using the menu at this link: https://olympics.com/en/olympic-games/olympic-videos The second is to click on this link, and scroll down to the section titled “relive past games.” Click on the Games you wish to see replays for, and then select the “replays/highlights” option when taken to a second page. Link: https://olympics.com/en/olympic-games I will say that I’ve had a lot of trouble/difficultly with the website recently. Sometimes to the menus don’t work, or the replays don’t show up, or some videos have disappeared, search function doesn’t work, etc. I haven’t been to upset/down about it because this is a new UI and website, so there was bound to issues. I’m just hopeful that they’re still learning from and fixing problems they run into along the way. ChandlerMne 1 “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Grassmarket 2,757 Posted June 6, 2021 #264 Share Posted June 6, 2021 Didn’t know this story, but I came across it last week reading a book about Nazi Germany. Did you know that there used to be an official Olympic Salute that was often used on ceremonial occasions? What happened to it? Well, at the two 1936 Olympics there was a certain amount of confusion because…… https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/the-olympic-salute-we-dont-use-anymore-because-it-looked-too-much-like-heiling-hitler-19789031/ Both actually derived from the same source, which you can see in this famous 1784 painting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_the_Horatii

dcro 10,182 Posted July 2, 2021 Author #266 Share Posted July 2, 2021 Three weeks left to the Opening Ceremony. What better way to mark it than to watch this totally not propaganda documentary? #banbestmen
vinipereira 3,054 Posted July 4, 2021 #267 Share Posted July 4, 2021 Just watched the two Rio 2016 documentaries available on the Olympic Channel. Days of Truce, like some previous official Olympics films, is a traditional recollection of the Games, focusing on a few athletes and the impact of the event on locals. While this documentary doesn't bring great filmmaking by any means, I thought it was successful in showing the good and bad side of Rio 2016 - and also made me remember the thrill of those days, including some events which I've attended. Like one of the brazilian athletes says in the film, this is not gonna happen again in our country (at least not in our lifetimes), so I feel privileged to have experienced it. Viva, a in-depth look about the Opening Ceremony, it's a much better documentary IMO. Shorter than the official film, it's a fascinaning movie for people who are interested about the process of conceiving and executing an Olympic ceremony. It was particularly interesting to know that some of the things we saw were decided a few days before the Opening. Kudos to the creative team who made a great ceremony given all the challenges. Olympian1010 7,479 Posted July 7, 2021 #268 Share Posted July 7, 2021 Enjoyable, well-made documentary about the “youth and urban” sport’s path to the Olympics. “Sport has the power to change the world. dcro 10,182 Posted July 14, 2021 Author #269 Share Posted July 14, 2021 Has anyone seen 'First' (London 2012 Official Film)? I just did, and it is astonishingly bad! Around 95% of the film is in slow-motion for no reason. #banbestmen
