  1. Oh I get now, but I seriously don't believe Old Town Road or any Lizzo song would get many points either. "Bad Guy" on the other hand was a worldwide hit and I think could get more votes that the Charlie Puth entry.
  2. What? 1. "Bad Guy" is great. / 2. I honestly believe it would have scored more points for USA. But to each their own ofc
  3. Remembering the time I used some footage of the Rock in Rio (2017) Shaw Mendes concert at the Olympic Park for our annual contest in 2018
  4. I like your idea. And I think this doesn't need to have a "host", just a group of individuals willing to give their time to put on a good show. Honestly I would be more than happy to help with visuals and whatelse is necessary. I remember some years ago there was an idea of these "special editions", with some theme. If we go this route, I think a good theme for this edition would be music about something sport-related. Don't know if it's feasible for all nations here, but it would be a nice way to relate the contest with the Olympics that would have happened about the same time. Of course this is just an idea, this special contest could be anything else as long it's not a traditional "Annual" or "Open" edition.
  5. Honestly I'm not on the Shawn Mendes' bandwagon either, but I always thought Canada would do good in TISC with a song by him (I think I even suggested the submission of "Life of the Party" years ago!!!). Anyway, China would be such a good winner ugh
  6. Brazil will in a team medal without doing anything. Lovely
  7. INDONESIA 12 DENMARK 11 CHINA 10 SWEDEN 9 FRANCE 8 AUSTRALIA 7 IRELAND 6 PORTUGAL 5 TUNISIA 4 NETHERLANDS 3 NEW ZEALAND 2 NORWAY 1 These were the votes of Brazil. Congrats @dcro for the amazing contest! Thank you all.

  10. Finally watched the romantic/comedy movie Olympic Dreams. Not really a great piece of cinema, but for Olympic fans it should be at least an interesting film because you get a real sense of what it's like to be in the Olympic village. I just wish the story would be more noteworthy and not so much improvised. Filmed during Pyeongchang 2018, it brings a lot of cameos by athletes including one more proeminent role by Gus Kenworthy. It's an okay film to watch if you don't have anything else to do.
  11. This is also one of my favourite movies ever. Remarkable on every level.
  12. He was also the biggest winner ever of Boccia at the Paralympic Games with 4 gold medals. Really sad.
  13. Some of the cancelled/postponed Paralympic events:
  14. Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, had tested positive for Coronavirus while in Australia.
  15. 2020 IWF Junior World Championships, Bucharest, ROU cancelled.
  16. IBSA Blind Football World Grand Prix cancelled.
  17. First case in Brazil has been confirmed at the state of Sao Paulo. Two patients (both from the Northeast region, one from Bahia and another from my state Pernambuco) await confirmation. All three of them have been to Italy recently.

  19. Just like last year, I correctly predicted 19 out of 24 categories and, again, I missed Best Picture - at least here... but on the GoldDerby contest I changed to Parasite hours before the ceremony and got 20/24 right, for a position of 841 among 10.257 people - not that great, but not terrible. I'm mad I changed to Klaus in Animated Film when I had Toy Story 4 all along
  20. And a full day of work starts in less than 5. I'm glad awards season is over!
  21. History was made.
  22. Well, that's the one category you can expect the Academy to award foreign talent (at least in the last decade). I'm flabbergasted.
