  3. and now Michkov is positive again together with Yurkov for team they have to stay 10 days quarantine in Canada Still no words who was the positive tested Slovak though. Poor kid will have to stay isolated alone there... what a tournament to remember lol
  4. Well that would be really dumb if true, since our team is already in Toronto waiting for the plane to Vienna lol
  5. You´re welcome sir. https://olympics.com/en/beijing-2022/schedule-by-sport/curling/
  6. Even TSN´s Craig Button noticed it https://www.tsn.ca/Hockey-Canada/video/button-assesses-the-possibility-of-the-wjc-being-rescheduled-pot~2350654
  7. Next weekend womens stage in Maribor is cancelled (again) due warm weather and lack of snow (again) Any reason why FIS constantly keep giving organizations to the same resorts year after year ?
  8. and it turned out to be true. The Russians are outraged. to the point they are even accusing the organizers of deliberate provocation and dishonest play.
  9. Due to unfavorable snow conditions, today's men's Super-G in Bormio was canceled.
  10. Our team shortly before the match against which turned to be cancelled and a couple of minutes later also the whole tournament... so the kids showed they are a great united group and just decided to say a joint farewell to the tournament lol
  11. well, rumors ongoing in our medias that Apparently the positive tested Russian player was Matvei Michkov himself... but then took a retest by the Russian team meds that tuned out to be negative.
  12. I understand your disappointement. I am very disappointed as well. but the thing is that the way they started to handle the covid positive cases was not fair at all. Just imagine one (I repeat only 1, maybe even the third goalie for example) of your players being for some reason tested positive before the quarterfinal. Your opponent will be awarded the win 1-0 and end the tournament for Sweden. Would be this fair ? I do not think so. And this is exactly what happened in the forfeited 3 matches, CZE and RUS had 1 positive case, USA 2 cases but their teams lost on the table 0-1. For me this is not only utterly stupid, totally absurd but also completely unfair. This just completely influenced and compromised the tournament´s sport integrity.
  13. After 3 Days of competition the Men´s U20 Ice Hockey World Championships has been cancelled, following 3 matches forfeited in the last 2 days for positive covid-19 tests in (Switzerland - USA 1-0 forfeited yesterday) (Finland-Czechia 1-0 forfeited today) and team (Slovakia-Russia 1-0 forfeited a couple of minutes ago)...
  14. World Juniors cancelled Following a recommendation by the tournament COVID-19 Medical Group and the IIHF Medical Committee, the IIHF Council has decided that, due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant, the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship will be cancelled to ensure the health and safety of all participants. The decision comes following a positive case on a player on the Russian national team, which would have necessitated a forfeit of the Russia-Slovakia game scheduled for 29 December. The game is the third to be cancelled due to positive cases, following Switzerland-USA and Finland-Czechia. In addition to ensuring the health and safety of participants, the Council has determined that with another forfeiture – the third forfeited game in two days – the sportive integrity of the event has been compromised, and the event must be cancelled. “Together with the teams, we came into this event with full confidence in the COVID-19 protocols put in place by the IIHF, the LOC, Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services and the Public Health Agency of Canada,” said IIHF President Luc Tardif. “The ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant forced us to readjust our protocols almost immediately upon arrival to attempt to stay ahead of any potential spread. This included daily testing and the team quarantine requirement when positive cases were confirmed.” “We owed it to the participating teams to do our best to create the conditions necessary for this event to work,” said Tardif. “Unfortunately, this was not enough. We now have to take some time and focus on getting all players and team staff back home safely.” Hockey Canada President Scott Smith and CEO Tom Renney shared the followign statement: “Hockey Canada has worked tirelessly since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure it would be equipped to host world-class, international events in a safe and healthy environment. Despite our best efforts, and continually adapting and strengthening protocols, we have unfortunately fallen short of our goal of completing the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship and handing out medals on Jan. 5 due to the challenges of the current COVID-19 landscape." "Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have always made the health and safety of event participants and the community at large a priority, and given the news that we have encountered positive cases within the World Juniors environment, we understand and support the decision to cancel the remainder of the event. Although we know this is the right decision, we sympathize with all participants who have earned the opportunity to represent their countries on the world stage and that will not be able to realize that dream in its entirety.” IIHF.COM
  15. The only reasonable decision. It already lost all regularity yesterday. But the thing that will be remembered is clearly the complete fail of both IIHF and the organizing committee. Just imagine. kids had to be in Red Deer by 15th december isolated etc... All were super happy to play his tournament in Canada, the land of this sport, super excited, all vaxed, all doing everything to keep healthy and complied with regulations and measures... but then arrived and... boom, accomodated in hotels with general public played 2 matches, some teams only 1 and then after christmas learnt the tournament is cancelled and can fly home but again. Only fair and reasonable decision. Sad, extremely sad but fair
  16. Seriously. The whole planet will laugh of this organization
  17. The referees will have to wear masks during the whole matches. How the hell they are supposed to whistle ? but yeah, the directoriate is already discussing right now, It may end only by one result. a cancellation of the tournament.

  19. Yes, I just found the info and was just going to post it... "Slovakia won by forfait over Russia, their team must go to isolation" Unbelievable, seriously embarassing. Just cancel the tournament or move it to another place. This already past the total absurdity It is only the 4th day of the tournament and already 3rd forfaited match...
  20. At this point they realy should just cancel this. This tournament already lost all credibility yesterday by that 3 points awarded to for the same reason.
