Exactly 100 years ago, on the same day the 19th September 1922 two amazing athletes were born in Czechoslovakia. Both later became Olympic champions on the same day 24th July 1952 in Helsinki Dana won the Javelin Throw and Emil the 5000m (he later as still the only athlete in history added golds in 10000 and Marathon at the same games), then both married and lived together until their deaths. Nah, I have nothing against Basketball. Don´t get me wrong, at first view it may probably appear that I tend to look bashing about certain sports but it is not true at all, I love/fan all sports That is just I rarely have the chance to watch them like a Basketball game for example, so when I watch it after a long time I always find it amusing how the last minutes took so long because all the countless timeouts and tactical fouls every 5-6 seconds on both sides the only thing I would cancel is that crazy screeching of the shoes on the pitch, it drives me crazy.

I already said it in the Early Prediction thread and I will repeat it again. who would have thought/bet/believed that best sport in Paris 2024 can be very possibly wrestling ? probably nobody, including me Last wrestler in SVK colours was Musulbes in Beijing 08 where he won also the only SVK wrestling olympic medal since the independence, but after his retirement, the sport has just completely died here That super-ambitious #missionParis2024 project of our Wrestling federation which started a couple of years ago to have 3-4 athletes at the Paris Olympics and win there a medal really looked overly ambitious, slash unrealistic ,double slash utopic, triple slash hilarious, but since last cca 3 years one has to notice that they indeed were going full speed into their goal direction, already that SVK return to the Games with Makoev qualification to Tokyo last year was a first a bit timid sign of change, let see how far they can take that dream

The match will be played in Bratislava so no HC Košice (The Steel Arena owner, asked 2 000 000 EUR for the rent of the arena to the club, justifying it by the high electricity prices, the club obviously temporarily canceled the contract and moved to the small Handball arena for training) asked for special exemption and all rivals agreed, so Košice will play cca the first month all matches away and will hope by this time the situation with the rent will be corrected
