  1. It’s better than professional or competitive coke sniffing obviously . From reason I was reminded of a really funny story. My younger sister gets in the car with my mom after school. She begins to tell my mom that some kids were passing around drugs during class. My mom asks what drugs, and my sister says “medical cocaine” . I know she was only in middle school, but every pre-schooler in California knows the difference between cocaine, marijuana, shrooms, meth, or heroine. We still tease her to this day.
  2. Women’s Gymnastics and Figure Skating would no longer exist if that first point was true. Yeah, Shaun White is a good skater, but he’s not that good. I swear if he makes the final.
  3. There are the best in the sport though. Skateboarding isn’t like a lot of established sports. The community is very different. The same goes for other sports nowadays too. I would never stop athletes from competing simply because of their age. Also, it’s not pedophilia to let these athletes compete. If anything Skateboarding has had much less problems with that than Figure Skating, Bobsled, Gymnastics, Speed Skating, etc.
  4. Everyone inside the IOC is talking like the Australian bid has already won...
  5. Most are. Those from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus would have to cross a UN monitored broader to get into Cyprus. They could fly to the competition as well, but both sides our really in agreement right now. Plus, I haven’t seen to many Cypriot athletes with Turkish names.
  6. Aceh is the district that imposed strict Shria Law right?
  7. No clue, part of the reformed bid process is that there’s no longer a set hard timetable. Budapest or India might be the favorites for 2036 by the way.
  8. And when people are crashing in front of you on a downhill and there’s no way to avoid it.
  9. I’d wouldn’t think so, that had to give on hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games because they didn’t have enough funding. The next Olympic bid race is for 2032 by the way. Australia looks almost assured to win.
  10. The main problem is will Sanders votes just screw over the party like in 2016. Many democrats essentially boycotted the election. Now that Bernie has even larger support, I’m worried it could be a catastrophe. I’m not thrilled that Biden might win ten nomination, he doesn’t get me up in the morning, but he’s still better than Trump I guess.
  11. After seeing multiple angles of the crash and how horrible it was, Movistar’s move was just disgraceful and tasteless. Anyone who’s cycled knows what a big deal respect is in the sport. When someone goes down you make sure their good and you give them a few minutes to catch their breath. There’s winning and there’s winning with class and dignity.
  12. In more local Californian politics anti-vaccine protestors threw menstrual blood all over our state senators: Problem in American #3,000,000: People who don’t vaccinate their kids put us all in danger. It’s honestly a very cruel form of child endangerment, and it should be punished with a large fine or even some jail time by state law. Vaccinate Your Kids!
  13. As I said a few weeks ago during hurricane Dorian. I wouldn’t have been worried about my health during the storm because the US has prepared well for such events after the San Francisco Earthquake and Hurricane Katerina. I worry most about being gunned down in a store or at school, wether or not my friends will be deported or shot by the police, and wether I will have healthcare in a few years. I worry a lot about the last one. That last one and the first one are my main reasons that I’m really contemplating immigration to Canada, Australia, or the EU. Here’s a heart wrenching moment from a Bernie Sanders town hall today: As one of the three largest economies in the world and arguably one of the three most powerful countries, it shouldn’t be impossible to make sure people, let alone our brave vets, have healthcare. I’d also again remind our community members and users that I’m here should you need someone to talk to about mental health.
  14. Or sheds light on a very serious problem if you’re an American woman.
  15. @Griff88 I was watching some behind the scenes coverage from rehearsals for the opening “dance” at the 2018 Asian Games. I noticed not all the girls wore hijabs when in their gym clothes. I was wondering if some muslims don’t wear it, or if they’re just a different religion.
  16. Beach Soccer draws: Group A and B look like the tougher groups on the men’s side. Overall I like the diversity of nations involved.
  17. Beach Handball draws: I haven’t study up on recent results yet, so I don’t how competitive each group is. To me Women’s Group A looks like a killer, same with men’s Group B.
  18. I love the look of these games . The logo is great, I like the light blue and yellow color pattern. These games feel like a decent deal. It looks and feels like an event that should be taken semi-seriously and I’m so down. It looks like we’ll have great live coverage as well. TV Information hasn’t been released yet, but because Qatar only got the games 4 months ago, I’d say they’re doing a fantastic job. This week’s been a whirlwind of information on these games, and with 30 days to go I would expect a lot more to come out soon.
  19. Well It’s no mystery to anyone on here that I envy Europe in ways (looking to move there someday), and your election systems are so much better. The 2 party system has been failing so hard since WW2. That’s why I want to see infighting in the Democratic Party, because I need to figure who my candidate will be. The Democrats are mainly anyone not conservative. The GOP are generally pretty well United. They actually make sense as a party. Now, I’d say they’re more together than ever with the moderate conservatives slowly leaving the party. The GOP have an extreme wing and regular conservatives. The problem for the DNC is that they have liberals, progressives, quite a few greens who know their candidates won’t win, democratic socialists (like myself), moderates, centrists, extreme socialists, and few other small minority outliers. The problem is that the demographics change according to the issue. There are pro-gun Democrats, pro-life Democrats, in some cases racist Democrats, financially conservative Democrats, and a party where there’s a constant power struggle between the fractions. I take absolutely no responsibility for the US political system back I’d completely rewrite it in a second. Automatic Voter Registration, Mandatory Voting, Election Day as a National Holiday, Election Day on Monday, Ban Political Parties, Cap Campaign Donations, Goodbye Electoral College, and Direct Election For All Government Positions.
  20. I also hate how the party won’t like them go after each other during the debate. If think realistically its Biden v. winner of Sanders v. Warren. Warren’s and Sander’s supporters will most likely support one or the other in my opinion. I totally agree with you on the candidates doing to much in the primaries by the way.
  21. Mainly I think besides the toxic relationship with bobsled Canada, I think she choose the US to be closer to her husband. What kills me is how ungrateful some Canadian’s are for her achievement. She gave you two gold medal ffs!
  22. I guess that makes sense. Wales and England are generally seen as having much more in common right?
  23. Very is little I love more than watching Parkour. This is FIG nonsense doesn’t do it for me. Honestly this doesn’t even satisfy many of the definitions of Parkour. It’s a shame Parkour Earth got beat out by the FIG to be the governing body. Also Parkour is very similar to Judo in many aspects. It was never meant to be a competition sport. It was meant originally as a martial art, the art of motion many have called it. It was supposed to increase ones spacial awareness and foot travel. The idea was that during an invasion or other threat, a traceur/traceuse (the name for Parkour practitioners) could get to a destination faster and more efficiently than a threat. Parkour has also proven helpful in better balance, fall prevention (for older practitioners), and inner city travel. Parkour involves no tricks (a common mistake people make), and has a loosely defined skill set mainly consisting of leaps, vaults, jumps, rolls, and a few specialty moves. Freerunning was designed specifically for competition and a wider, younger audience. This is the discipline of Parkour where tricks are mandatory. Purists like myself (I’ve practice some basic Parkour on and off) do not like when people mislabel the two. Most Parkour gyms teach basic Parkour, and then focus their students on freerunning. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert because I have very little actual experience in the sport, but I am very knowledgeable about it. I can answer any questions people have while watching the FIG version during the games. My main complaint about the FIG version is that the obstacles aren’t urban. In Parkour, the obstacles are not supposed to be perfectly lauded out artificial setups, they are supposed to be random walls, fountains, railings, roofs, and any other modern architectural figure. Freerunning has evolved to allow such things, but many life long traceurs will tell you they prefer “natural” obstacles that were never built with the intention for Parkour.
