NCAA March Madness is cancelled. Easily one of the 5 biggest sporting events in the United States. This will hurt the college sports industry for a long time to come.

Sparse attendance would be fucking awesome! I’d have my pick of tickets, and plenty of room to myself. Plus, I wouldn’t have to worry about catching Covid-19 really.

Fair, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring some of the qualification events forward a bit. I think it’s always good to plan for cancelation too. A lot of cities aren’t going to want to host events now because of this. IFs, IOC, and other invested groups will need to work to restore confidence in hosting sporting events.

Not really. Euro takes place a bit before the games, and it’s happening in Europe, not Japan. Everything I’ve seen from the IOC, Tokyo2020, and the Japanese government suggests they plan to go ahead with the games. People canceling/postponing events that are more than two months away are overreacting. If we get to May, and the virus isn’t stopping, then it will be time for the cancellation/postponement of the games. On the bright side, Sanya is officially Covid-19 free, and will probably remain so. So the 2020 Asian Beach Games should be good to go for November

We still haven’t been travel from South Korea. We’re just began screening foreign travelers. Also, there’s a loophole in his plan thanks to the UK, so all Europeans just have to fly out of Heathrow now.

Yep, he blamed the EU for the spread of the virus (or at least alluded too), and all non-essential travel will be banned for 30 days. Notably, the UK will be exempt from this (Trump that very clear). He also went on to talk about how great his government's response to the virus has been (which every health expert will tell you it hasn’t). Then he talked about the economy for a while, since that’s all he’s actually concerned about. We’re preparing for school closures and mass spread of the disease in California since we don’t trust Trump to do anything. In fact, we’ve already been operating on our own for about two weeks.
