    Someone posted a video where someone shows a video of incident into r/fencing. It looks like Mexico actually got point and the coach and another team member ran onto the piste celebrating before the point was awarded. The coach took off his shirt and threw it during celebrations, and was then blackcarded.

    Aular snatched the gold medal in the men’s road race with a solo attack on the final lap. He finished just ahead of the group. Unfortunately, the stream didn’t show the last few kilometers, so hard to know what transpired. do well in the group sprint, but they left it too late

    Quirky moments/stories like this are one of the reasons I love following/reporting on smaller multi-sport games. I can see livestreams for indoor bowls scheduled on YouTube now. There hasn’t been much streaming in the past, so it will be fun to follow this event.

    Howell finished with a bronze medal in women’s BMX. The races, if they can honestly can called that, we’re mostly just an organized procession after the start. Pajon in a class of her own, of course. Howell was the only rider really able to keep pace with the Colombian pair, so maybe a glimmer of hope for a good result at the Pan Ams.

    Sierra wins a condensed field sprint in the women’s road race. There was a nice little crowd at the finish, but not too many people out on the course Jakarta-Palembang 2018 still remains unrivaled in that department.

    Richards goes under the Olympic standard to win the men’s 400m. Joseph goes under the standard as well for silver! St. Lucia has its first quota for Paris 2024! Biron earns the first medal for his territory in third. Plenty to celebrate after that race

    has been disqualified from men’s team foil after their coach did his best Rio 2016 wrestling impression @mrv86 From the official communication: “During semifinal bout between Venezuela and team Mexico at score 44-44 after the action coach from Mexico team ran on the fencing strip and took off his t-shirt, after that he got completely topless. This happened before making a final decision after watching video replay required by the rules. After this incident I give a black card per T.132.2 to the national coach from team Mexico Maiquel Rodriguez.”

    Joey Mantia has seemingly announced his retirement on Threads (yes, that’s a thing now apparently). Hard to tell if it’s meant as a joke or not. I know he’s been working with the skaters the last few weeks, but it sounds like he might have actually been coaching rather than training (or both perhaps).

    Can’t say I’m a fan of the new trend of throwing confetti on the climbs. It just seems like something that might have consequences for the riders at some point, not to mention the environmental impact of that stuff
