@rafalgorka if you have any time, thoughts on my Day 15 predictions?
We are shopping now in a fashion outlet , it will take sth like 6 hours for my wife and daughters to get out of here so I will definitely have time for your posts. Stay tuned! 😎

Still a couple of years to go, but why not. For my predictions, I’ll also be adding some lesser known names (mainly juniors) that have shown success before but have yet to translate it to the WC circuit. First though, I’m going to complete my Paris 2024 predictions (Day 15/16 medalists, medal summary by event, and a list of all projected medals by NOC.
This is great plan. Checking out juniors and lesser known athletes
i ain’t got time for it now - so the first version of my predictions will be rather what if Olympics are this season
This whole thing is just for fun!!!

That's not the worry.
The fear isn't, and never was, Moscow 1980 or Los Angeles 1984 for anyone but Bach and his own personal gripes.
The fear is Munich 1972.
A couple of hotheads who think they can strike a blow for freedom if they attack some judoku or gymnast aligned to the Russian Army club coming out of the cantina.
Put it this way. I would REALLY not be comfortable sharing a tower block in Paris with AIN athletes. I don't like the odds.
Agree 100%, after this comment there is not much left to write here on the topic. Full stop.

Swimming will be interesting, so to say
my oh my... you are so right here... still hope those not-controlled swimmers won't show up. If you are out because you missed 3 tests in a year, how can you be in if you haven't been tested for 3 years-in-a-row???...
i am working so hard all week long and i just don't wanna have poorly made drinks on Friday evening
i am working so hard all year long and i just don't wanna have swimming competition spoilt during olympics...

I truly don't understand how they are so enraged by Russian / Belarussian participation and don't condemn other "agressor" countries with "blood on their hands".
I have a word for that. It's called "politics".

well, that's another story

the only people outside and still talking of that conflict are those idiots running the EU, nobody else cares about that anymore
here we disagree 100%, we in POL care a lot about this "conflict" (i have other words for that) but maybe we are biased - we have this war just around our corner, we know many UKR people, we have boarder both with UKR and RUS, this is not an easy situation
but ofc not many people here care about Lampedusa and stuff like that, this is far away from here and so on...

well, that's another story
Old Italian IOC Member Franco Carraro said that most likely there won't be any high ranking official to the Opening Ceremony because they (and also the organizers, even if they will never admit that) are afraid of a possible terrorist attack by the Islamic supporters related to the vs Hamas (& friends) current situation
the only people outside and still talking of that conflict are those idiots running the EU, nobody else cares about that anymore
here we may agree, Hamas and friends are good at terrorist attacks, French are bad at stopping terrorist attacks, this is the worst (???) possible combo

I am frantically looking through all the data I collected but as for now I don’t see a chance for a medal for POL in 26.
but maybe you - from non-Polish perspective- see it different???

Prince Andrew?
This is the best one-liner here this year. And we are in an early December.

@Antooo how are you with your project??? We appreciate it a lot

We thought about a trip to Venezuela in Feb but it looks we have to change our plans… Ehh.. not safe direction I’m afraid now

Quick question:
if you could watch only one sports thing live on Sat and one sports thing live on Sun what would you choose?
Me: men’s alpine in Val d’Isere
-
They say 11 BLRUS athletes are qualified. Do these people - one by one - fulfill IOC entry criteria? No support for the invasion, no military connection???
btw, fun fact: BLR and RUS are basically one country now , they will perform under the same flag now somehow, you must admit there is some logic in it - one country one flag heh

Paris 2024 - Early Predictions - Day by Day
in Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Day 15 (August 10, 2024)
Athletics- Men’s High Jump
I say Gold for Barshim as well. But i may be biased because he is my fav high jumper and probably even my fav no-POL athlete these days. He's got Polish coach :-)
No medal for Tamberi would be sad for me cause he's my second-fav male high jumper. It can obviosly happen though. And Woo is serious contender for sure, I haven't picked him for medal myself but maybe you're right.
Athletics- Women’s 100m Hurdles
I believe Harrison will win this one. Finally she will prove she can run her best in the final as well. Not only in prelims, semis or DL meetings. So i think she will win this one. But ofc - she may even not make it through US Trials here, because US Trials level in some events will be amazing and this is one of those events...
No fan of Amusan at all so I don't want her to get a medal here. But she's a contender ofc.
Athletics- Men’s 800m
I haven't predicted gold for Arop either but maybe we should be more optimistic here. He has a chance for gold. He looked simply great in Budapest. Looking at him - after first 100m you just knew he will win this final.
Athletics- Men’s 5000m
I said Ingebrigtsen will get 1500-5000 double but surely UGA can have a gold here.
Athletics- Women’s 4x400m Relay
Athletics- Men’s 4x400m Relay
I agree - 2 golds for USA in M and W 4x400
Basketball- Men’s Tournament
I may be very disappointed but for now I'm thinking M basketball will be one of the best events in Paris. I just can't wait to see these matches. My only hope is GRE will advance and Giannis will play (but both these things are not very likely). Anyway, let the best remaining top 4 teams qualify now and let's not have many NOs when the best players will be asked to join their teams.
Beach Volleyball- Men’s Tournament
Yes, SWE and NOR are my favs as well. Where do you see POL here?
Diving- Men’s 10m Platform
I like the UKR kid very much but i don't see it happen. It would require both CHN athletes to screw things up (one of them can always screw up, but both of them in the same event... - very unlikely imo). And AUS is really strong here as well. Anyway, I predicted a surprised gold for UKR in synchro platform due to CHN collapse, we'll see.
Handball- Women’s Tournament
It would be very sad for FRA to get to the final here, and then lose it in front of their own crowd. But at least there will be some crowd in the stands this time. Anyway, it can happen ofc, we'll see WCH results soon...
Volleyball- Men’s Tournament
I believe in POL team here, i predicted them for gold as well, but i'm afraid we'll lose QF game again - OR we will win QF relatively easily and then we will celebrate too much, lose our concentraton and implode heavily in a SF
But if we advance to the final somehow - I don't tnink we'll meet JPN there, they are strong but - i don't know how to say it politely - JPN guys are playing well but they are not hmm... high enough???
Ofc, after what i wrote, POL will lose QF against JPN for sure...
Waterpolo- Women’s Tournament
Here i predicted gold for HUN but you are right here i guess
