  1. Congrats to the Braves! An incredible story considering they barely made it into the playoffs with only 88 wins. Thank goodness the astros didn't win. Still haven't won a championship without cheating yet. Guess it's hard to win when you don't know what pitch is coming

  3. Game 1 of the world series ends with a convincing 6-2 win by the Braves. Unfortunately for them, their starting pitcher, Charlie Morton, got injured and will be out for the series.
  4. Canada's Uniforms. The big puffy jackets are the opening ceremony uniforms, white ones are the closing ceremony uniforms, the rest are miscellaneous. https://olympic.ca/2021/10/26/feel-canada-team-canada-lululemon-unveil-the-beijing-2022-team-kit/
  5. Okay, it's still early but I tried to calculate the olympic quotas. The qualification system is very confusing so there's a good chance there'll be a few mistakes but it should be hopefully be mostly accurate. Beijing 2022 Provisional Quotas after 1/4 World Cup Events M 5000m Relay: Netherlands Hungary Italy China ROC France Canada Belgium *Note that Korea isn't ranked in the top 8 yet so they'll probably bump out Belgium eventually M Individual Quotas x5: , , x4: , , , , x3: , , , x2: , x1: , , , , W 3000m Relay: China Netherlands South Korea Italy United States Canada ROC Poland W Individual Quotas (Names are of those that currently have the quota position) x5: , , , , x4: , , x3: , , x2: , , x1: , , , Mixed 2000m Relay: Canada China France Hungary Italy Japan Kazakhstan Netherlands ROC South Korea United States
  6. Czech Republic: Ondrej Palat (Tampa Bay Lightning), David Pastrnak (Boston Bruins), Jakub Voracek (Columbus Blue Jackets) Finland: Sebastian Aho (Carolina Hurricanes), Aleksander Barkov (Florida Panthers), Mikko Rantanen (Colorado Avalanche) United States: Seth Jones (Chicago Blackhawks), Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks), Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs)
  7. Sweden has also named it's first three players to its team: Mika Zibanejad (New York Rangers), Gabriel Landeskog (Colorado Avalanche), and Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning). No surprises there.
  8. National League Scores (for games that matter) San Diego 3-2 San Francisco Milwaukee 3-8 LA Dodgers American League Scores (for games that matter) Baltimore 1-10 Toronto Boston 5-3 Washington Tampa Bay 12-2 NY Yankees LA Angels 4-6 Seattle NL West title is still up for grabs. Giants can clinch it tomorrow with a win and the Dodgers can force a tie breaker game for the division with a win and a Giants loss tomorrow. In the AL Wildcard race, the Yankees lost while the Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Mariners all won. This means that the Red Sox and Yankees are now tied for the wild card positions with the Blue Jays and Mariners both a game back. The Red Sox and Yankees can both punch their tickets into the wild card game by winning tomorrow. Should either of them lose, they'll have to hope that both the Mariners and Blue Jays lose or else there will be an extra game to decide who advances. Should be a crazy, fun today tomorrow. All games start at 15:00 ET.
  9. First day of the final weekend series is over now and what a day it was especially me being a Blue Jays fan (even thought it would've been nice if the Red Sox lost too). National League Scores (for games that matter) San Diego 0-3 San Francisco Milwaukee 6-8 LA Dodgers American League Scores (for games that matter) Baltimore 4-6 Toronto Boston 4-2 Washington Tampa Bay 4-3 NY Yankees LA Angels 2-1 Seattle Giants are still two games ahead of the Dodgers for the NL West division. The Dodgers will need to win both games and the Giants will have to lose both games to force a 163rd game of the season to decide who wins the division and who plays in the wild card game. The American League is a lot more complex. 4 teams still alive for two wildcard playoff spots. The Yankees are currently one game ahead of the Red Sox who are one game ahead of both the Mariners and Blue Jays. As long as the Yankees win one more game, they'll clinch one of the spots. After the loss by Seattle tonight, the Boston Red Sox are in control and will clinch the 2nd spot if they win both of their remaining games. Should they lose one of those games, a loss by both Seattle and Toronto would still give them a playoff spot while two wins by those teams would force a tiebreaker game. Should the Red Sox lose both of their remaining games, they would be out of the playoffs entirely if Seattle and Toronto win both of their games while two red sox losses and a win by either Seattle or Toronto would force a tie breaker. The Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays are tied but on the outside looking in. The best way for either of the two teams to get in would be to win both of their remaining games and hope the Red Sox lose at least one to force a 163rd game. To have sole possession of a wild card spot, the team would have to win both games, the Red Sox would have to lose both games and the other team they're tied with would have to lose at least one of the games.
  10. On one hand, it would be great to see another competitive team at the games instead of China. On the other hand, I would love nothing more than to see Canada destroy the crap out of them
  11. Let's go!!!!! As a jays fan, not many things beat sweeping the Yankees in a 4 game series.
  12. YEEEESSSSS!!! Been waiting for this announcement for a while now. 2018 just didn't feel the same without NHL players. Just hoping that COVID doesn't change plans. So excited to finally get to see our older generation of players (Crosby, Bergeron, Tavares, Pietrangelo, etc.) play along side the new wave of players that have risen to the top of the NHL (McDavid, MacKinnon, Point, Makar, etc.). Hopefully we can come away with the gold medal. Depending on who the GM picks, this has the potential to be one of the most skilled Team Canada's ever. And it's not just Canada, the level of international hockey talent is greater than ever. Every country besides China will be sending some great players and I expect that there'll be a lot of competitive matches. Can't wait for the tournament to start!
  13. Well, we just won a gold, were you watching that race?

  16. And so with one day of qualification to go, six teams remain in the hunt for 3 quotas and the matchups are as expected. vs. vs. vs.
  17. Unfortunately after qualifying for two consecutive olympics, Slovenia won't be going to Beijing this time. Tough luck for them being in the same qualification group as Denmark and Norway.

  19. Canada absolutely dominating the US . Wasn't expecting that at all.
  20. Don't know if anyone here's been watching the Paralympics or not but CBC's livestreams have been awful. There are now pop up ads that show up in the lower part of the stream that block out the information at the bottom. It would be fine if this was just once every hour or half hour bit no, they literally show the same adds over and over again EVERY FIVE MINUTES!!! Pretty much almost unwatchable. Really hope this isn't a precursor to the Beijing Olympic livestreams cause they are probably one of the best parts of CBCs Olympic coverage.
