So while Saturday's games are still going, Sunday's games are going to start in a few hours.
Nothing too interesting in Pool B. Korea will hope their disastrous tournament doesn't get worse against the Czech Republic. Japan and Australia face off for the top seed in the Pool.
Final day in the Pool of Chaos (Pool A). Sunday is going to be a lot of fun. Here's the scenarios:
Scenario 1:
Taiwan beats Cuba, Netherlands beats Italy:
Taiwan finishes 1st. Netherlands finishes 2nd. Cuba is forced to requalify for the 2026 tournament.
Scenario 2:
Cuba beats Taiwan, Netherlands beats Italy:
Netherlands finishes 1st. Cuba, Panama and Taiwan are tied at 2-2. Cuba would finish 2nd based on the head-to-head tie-breaker. Italy is forced to requalify.
Scenario 3:
Taiwan beats Cuba, Italy beats Netherlands:
Taiwan finishes 1st. Italy, Netherlands, and Panama are tied at 2-2. Since they would all have a head-to-head record of 1-1 against each other, the next tie breaker is used which is runs allowed per innings defended. Cuba is forced to requalify.
Scenario 4:
Cuba beats Taiwan, Italy beats Netherlands:
All 5 teams finish at 2-2. Runs allowed per innings defended would be used.
Right now, here's the runs allowed stats.
Netherlands: 0.444
Cuba: 0.538
Panama: 0.600
Italy: 0.615
Taiwan: 0.889
