  1. Dion Dreesens posts a 1:46.93 as first swimmer in the 4x200 heats, 0.05s faster than the Dutch standard and so he qualified for Rio
  2. I was having serious medal hopes for us here in the men's race, but time for Kimmann to get in shape is starting to run out.. He sort of seems to have a bit of speed, but his positioning in races has been horrible in the past months Luckily there's an upside with Laura Smulders being in the shape of her life, but if everyone is in top shape I think the gap between Smulders and the likes of Pajon is bigger than the gap between Kimmann and the best of the world (seeing as in top shape he pretty much is the best of the world or at least extremely close to that).
  3. To be fair, I can imagine it is indeed hard to stay at your weight when you're a growing teenager, I doubt he's the first one with this problem..
  4. The best thing is they only started celebrating after the 2nd set (it was already sure after the 1st)
  5. Netherlands won the first set, they're going to the Olympics after 20 years
  6. Damn, I should have been awake for some live bet on Thailand when Korea was 2-0 up...that was a little predictable..
  7. [hide] Knockout Round May 19th - May 22nd, 2016 8 Nations, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Bronze Medal Match and Gold Medal Match, winning Nation will become Men's Ice Hockey IIHF World Championship 2016 champion Semifinals Moscow Standard Time (GMT +3) Date and Venue Team 1 T1 T2 Team 2 May 21st 2016, h. 16:15, VTB Ice Palace, Moscow United States 1 Canada May 21st 2016, h. 20:15, VTB Ice Palace, Moscow Finland 3 Russia [/hide]
  8. If any of you guys live in São Paulo and are interesting in the Brazilian cross-country skiing team (and biathlon), tomorrow they'll have their big physical tests on rollerski's there I thought it would be on the Pico do Jaraguá like usual, but I just heard they will do it in another place. I'm guessing it will be close to the University, but I'm not sure yet. Anyway, it will be a great and very interesting fight between the old generation with Jaque Mourão and the young generation with Bruna Moura
  9. Oh who cares, he's 7th and qualified for the final anyway
  10. 55.89 100 fly (2nd fastest time ever) for Sarah "I'm still fully training and totally not in shape" Sjöström
  11. Sebastiaan Verschuren (NED) posts 48.32 in the 100 free and finally qualifies for the Olympics after all the time posting 48.6 or something (48.47 was the standard) There's a good chance he would have been allowed to start anyway because he's already qualified in the 200 free, but now he's sure
  12. 21.01m shot put for 19-year old Konrad Bukowiecki, what a huge talent that guy is
  13. How do you see Kimia Alizadeh's chances for gold? I know she's a huge talent, but it's impossible for me to say what kind of chances she has.. (asking because I just saw the first bookmaker betting odds for the taekwondo events)
  14. Mohamed Ketbi (BEL) is having huge troubles for months already to stay under the 58kg limit. Apparently he's growing quite a lot (he's still young) and it's causing more and more problems. Didn't have a fight in his weight class since December and it looks like it's a very realistic option that he won't be going to Rio. Salaheddine Bensaleh seems to be in sight as a possible replacement..
  15. So far so good, that's no problem I suppose...I mean, she is a Belgian athlete after all. Of course I really hope this doesn't mean she will compete for Belgium at the Olympics as well, that'd be bad.
  16. But how can AZE request a wildcard? They had much more than 8 individual athletes in 2012 and 2008 Edit: I guess this must be one of the reallocated places for unqualified nations. How many Moldovans have an MQS?
  17. 25-21, 25-21, 25-14, what a match
  18. The Dutch girls are playing so well today
  19. We should recruit more Japanese people here
  20. That's odd. They have something against Yoshimura?
  21. Murdoch vs Koch, what an awesome fight that was
  22. I'm somewhat cheering for the Belgian guy since the terrorist attacks in Brussels, where his brother was one of the terrorists....it's really great to see he won a European gold today to add some happiness
  23. No problems with the time here by the way, the later the better usually
  24. Why is there a lunch break from 15:00 to 17:00?
