  1. Pantano was laughing in his face when he tried to sprint
  2. He sprinted? I thought he was cycling backwards
  3. Using a smoke bomb on a climb, you really don't have a lot of brains when you do that do you?
  4. Nibali and co getting huge, huge help from the motorbike
  5. Solo attack for Dumoulin
  6. Well if Majka is that strong he should go for the points himself
  7. I find Voeckler incredibly annoying, but damn he's a brilliant cyclist
  8. What happened?
  9. Rossi, Dovizioso etc just did not want to win this race I think. Marquez was the only one smart enough
  10. 110- Serena Williams will fail to win a gold medal (in all events). Does this mean she will win 0 gold medals or does it mean she will not win all three gold medals? For example: if she doesn't medal in the doubles, but takes gold in the singles, is the correct answer Yes or No?
  11. Synchronized swimming Team * * * * * Russia * * * China * * Japan, Ukraine * Canada, USA Duet * * * * * Russia * * * China * * Japan, Ukraine * Canada, USA Is this somewhat correct?
  12. Athletics Men's 100m: * * * * * Jamaica (Bolt, Ashmeade, Blake) * * * * USA (Gatlin, Bromell, Bracey) * * Canada (De Grasse, Brown) * France (Vicaut, Lemaitre) Men's 200m: * * * * * Jamaica (Bolt, Blake, Ashmeade), USA (Gatlin, Merritt, Webb) * Panama (Edward), Antigua & Barbuda (Francis), Great Britain (Mitchell-Blake, Gemili)
  13. I know But indeed, bookmakers often overestimate the odds of athletes from their biggest markets. For example Unibet often overestimates Dutch athletes because it's by far the biggest bookmakers in the Netherlands, so no matter if an odd is 10 or 20, Dutch people will bet on it anyway Same for Nordicbet that often used to overestimate Scandinavians, or indeed Australian bookmakers overestimating Australians.
  14. Which says nothing about all the other sports obviously, but indeed it's funny that they have a mistake in one sport (just like every bookmaker has mistakes like non-participants in one sport or another )
  15. Do we know if Makhloufi will actually do 800/1500 this time?
  16. Oops, I was thinking about athletics
  17. Yang? Did I miss a new Chinese 1500m talent or something?
  18. Ma Long and Zhang Jike will play the singles for China if I'm not mistaken. Well at least there's only two players per nation in the singles, so we just need to see one miracle to prevent an all-Chinese final. Of course I know it probably won't happen, but one can hope. Then again, the times I saw Ma and Zhang play against each other were awesome matches, so I wouldn't mind that much.
  19. Timo Boll beat both Ovtcharov and Samsonov yesterday so he's in good shape. I guess if someone can prevent an all-Chinese final, it could be him? It'd be cool to see one of the veterans like Boll or Samsonov reach the final
  20. My guess is a group of 10-15 riders breaking away (no GC names in it of course) and taking the win, maybe one or two small GC attacks on that last uphill Seems like a perfect stage for Rui Costa, Gallopin or Navardauskas or something
  21. Smart decision And well, look at what we're gonna get tomorrow
  22. So their official statement today says they won't go for an appeal? Alright, so we have a situation where the Romanians are out, and Belarus is going to CAS.
  23. So I guess time trial specialists are just as bad? People who only reach a top-3 in time trials? Or what about cyclists who can only win stages when there's mountains in them? Imagine, Froome/Quintana/Mollema/Contador waiting in the group forever only to attack in the last 3 kilometers and "win" the stage. Or how about someone like Francisco Ventoso or JJ Rojas who sucked monkeyballs in normal sprints, but where among the best when a sprint was slightly uphill? One trick ponies as well? How about people like Erik Zabel or Abdushaparov who couldn't really do much more than sprinting and taking the win? Cycling is simply not a sport where only people who climb a mountain are good. There are flat stages, where sprinters and their teams work their asses of to win, there are time trials where GC riders and ITT specialists work their asses of and the same goes for climbs. It's a bit more complicated
  24. Is that any different than for example Valverde often waiting until the last meters of a climb and then sprinting and taking the win? And what kind of argument is "it has to be purely flat" (which isn't true btw)? Come on, can someone only be talented if they're a good climber as well? And no, I don't like Cavendish, but I honestly can't see how anyone can say he isn't talented or something, unless you have an absolute hate for him that blinds your judgement or something I mean, I hate athlete Mekhissi-Benabbad almost more than any other athlete, but that doesn't take away the fact he's an fantastic athlete..
