  1. That only says 24 provisional suspensions, not 120 suspensions..
  2. But I don't think the Olympics should serve as a way to start some event from scratch. Events should already be interesting and competitive enough to deserve a place in the Olympics, so basically the other way around compared to what the IOC tries to do. All women's Nordic combined has so far is a bunch of 15-year old girls starting it and a handful of older ones who are happy there is finally an international competition or two. I think my main problem is that it's bordering on insanity to finalize the list of events for the Olympics only 3 years before the Olympics. If you do it one cycle earlier, say 7 years, new events at least get the chance to grow up into something competitive.
  3. For me, half of my sports-watching fun comes from discussing stuff with other fans, preferably live
  4. I wouldn't know where one might get this published, but I definitely like it. Although I don't agree with everything, by the way. My opinion on women's Nordic combined is clear I think (it should be added at some point, but 2022 is way too early considering there's not even a decently filled Continental Cup yet, let alone a World Cup), and any women's bobsleigh event (monobob or 4-woman, no difference in that) should only be added after several years of World Cup races. Also, adding two women's ice hockey teams, sure, but not when it costs quotas for other events. Just have 46 more athletes at the Games, it's not a problem. Takes like a half building extra.
  5. I'm curious if it'll be mostly the same pilots actually, since it's a whole different game.
  6. Just like in Rio. That was awesome, on the major Dutch forum the only people watching and posting were people actually interested in the sports instead of people who don't care and just come to troll (which happens a lot when it's during daytime) Still hate the fact that I'm being mocked for the 200m breaststroke though. One guy asked "who's the favourite for this race?", I answered "Everyone but Balandin."......couple minutes later, Balandin won the gold.
  7. Torpedo Moscow kicked out a black player because 'fans' of the club didn't want a black player wearing 'their' jersey and protested his arrival. Faith in humanity is getting smaller every day. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6824223/torpedo-moscow-erving-botaka-yoboma-contract-racist-fans-protest-black/
  8. Majdevac isn't the smartest one out there, is he? At 11:20 is his goal, and yeah...that second yellow is for taking off his jersey So because of him either not knowing well-known rules or just being really not very smart, Balzan will have to miss him in their next match. I'd be so freaking mad if I was his coach..
  9. That moment you look at a GIF and when you turn your eyes away again you realize it's 3 hours later.
  10. Morning is fine too, like Pyeongchang I mean, I like when it starts anywhere between 23:00 and 01:00, generally speaking, because then most of the sports day is in a time when at least here there won't be people awake asking for your attention Plus when it's over halfway in the afternoon, that leaves plenty of time for stuff like stocking up in the supermarket, which is hard when the Olympics are in Europe (since then the supermarkets are closed outside of the sports hours )
  11. Yes, they are. However: Look again They added a whole new women's event (that's not even 'a thing' yet apart from youth competition, but ok, I guess we'll be seeing women's monobob in the World Cup from now on, surely otherwise it wouldn't have been added so rapidly?)
  12. A little context would be helpful
  13. Popcorn for what? Having the Olympics mostly in the night is awesome
  14. If the rollerskiing with my girlfriend last month is any indication, I should be able to hold on to that one minute lead for at least 62 seconds.
  15. His skiing style is a little too agressive for me to trust him with a rifle
  16. And apart from visibility, I'm pretty sure it's not exactly helpful to ride through thick, toxic smoke when competing at the very limit of the human body, with heart rates basically at or near it's maximum and trying to get every bit of oxygen molecules you can get into your system. But no, flares are great.
  17. Absolutely. That video from behind was awful, the motor riders just disappeared into nothing and so did the riders only a few meters in front of the camera.
  18. Maybe I can convince Mesotitsch to make a comeback. And heck if Brazil can get a young Austrian to compete for them due to one of his parents being Brazilian, surely there's some Austrian with decent biathlon talent and a Dutch parent?
  19. It's hard to see exactly who causes it, but it's very close to some people waving the flag of a Dutch province. As expected, Dutch people bringing shame on Alpe d'Huez. Can't the Tour just stay away from this mountain for the next 10 years at least? Edit: Wait, it's a Luxembourg lion flag. Still my point about the Dutch stands.
  20. So due to moronic 'fans', what a surprise! Wow, did not see that coming!
  21. Maybe if I manage to get a top-8 in the World Cup
  22. I'm gonna learn how to shoot a biathlon rifle then...
  23. Yep, same here, but I'm dying to know exactly how they're planning on making qualifying for the non top-20/25 nations even more impossible.
