  1. Conditions are getting windier. Should mean that we get racing again.
  2. Home water advantage for the press as well being able to get an interview on the water
  3. Which is rather interesting as there have been quite a bit of hype internally about it not so long ago. It also seems like the French Orienteering Federation are pretty much alone, having had a meeting with Estanguet without participation from the International federation.
  4. The main problem is that it's pretty Eurocentric. Tim Robertson's silver medal is only the second medal won by a non-European and it's still very much dominated by a few countries (Switzerland, Scandinavia, France and Russia). It doesn't seem likely that it'll be in Paris even though it's one of the main countries. I fear that it won't get into the Olympics unless Switzerland or a Scandinavian country tries to host. It seems more likely that we'll have ski orienteering in the Winter games.
  5. What a swim by young Thea Blomsterberg!
  6. Not to say 16,1
  7. It's not called sprint without a reason
  8. First worldwide qualification, I believe
  9. We got some more classic Aarhus weather and it seems like it gave the Danish sailors the home water advantage that we hoped for. Fantastic to see Ida and Marie in the lead and Rindom as well. Also a very fine start from our RS:X sailors and decent from Lin and CP. Som very fine races from the 49ers but they need to be more consistent to get the Olympic quota that we hoped for there.
  10. Yup. I was on the stands. But now I left the area for a moment to watch the boat park for everything but 49ers and Nacras.
  11. may not get much attention for the sailing but the flag has the most central spot at the spectator area
  12. There's some gazpacho that's looking pretty delicious and one of the gourmet burgers is vegetarian (haven't tried that one). There'll be something for you too
  13. Got some decent fish&chips yesterday, but there are shawarma, different curries, sausages, gyros, gourmet burgers (I've had those before) and I'm sure that I'm forgetting something.
  14. Pretty windy and cloudy today but still plenty of people greeting the Danish 49ers on their way to the race course with clapping and even a small Mexican wave. A couple of pictures from some of the things for the spectators. They're really trying to create a great atmosphere to get people over here, not just the sailing fans. The street food area with plenty of different choices A small stage with music pretty much all day of all styles (a local brass band played Bach when the picture was taken). When we get to the days of the medal races, we have some decently big or upcoming Danish artists playing in the evening.
  15. Great win for Jena and Katja!
  16. The first fleets getting back
  17. Flags from outside the International sailing center The crowd between races Some foiling action just in front of the main spectator area
  18. Well. I did catch some pretty decent pictures when we hosted the 49er Europeans But will do. BTW decent windy conditions with some foiling action from some of the Nacras training.
  19. Sadly my phone's camera isn't good enough to catch the action and I haven't found the charger for my camera. Will try to catch them on the way back in.
  20. Finally made it to the Championships. Lovely big crowds and a great atmosphere for Ida and Marie's win! Meanwhile some Nacras are on the way out to test the waters.
  21. Nice try from Trine, but lt didn't quite hold.
  22. Well. For some people it's either east or west, more or less making the split at the Iron Curtain
  23. Not to say that they've pretty much made it sound like it doesn't really start before tomorrow.
